I am very satisfied with my college.
Placements: I am from the CS department with a specialization in Mathematics and Computing. Around 70-80% of students are placed. The highest package is around 40 lakh, and the lowest is 8 lakh. The average package is 19-20 lakh. Top companies recruiting include Google, Adobe, Uber, and many others. More than 50% of students got internships on campus, while others went for off-campus opportunities.
Infrastructure: All the classrooms are very good, with big classrooms that have AC. All labs also have AC. The library is fully conditioned with many types of books, and all these places are covered with Wi-Fi, which is very helpful. The boys' hostel does not have AC. The food quality is alright, and the canteen is good. Medical facilities are adequate, and sports and games facilities are good.
Faculty: All teachers are helpful and qualified. They have knowledge about their subjects and know how to teach the students effectively. The course is strictly based on increasing our knowledge and enhancing our chances for future placements. The semester exams are not that tough; with enough study, one can easily score good marks.
Other: I like both Maths and Computing, so I chose this course. One thing that can be improved is that teachers should give more question practice and reduce the burden from lab classes. We should be given more breaks, and our classes should end in the afternoon. Sometimes, classes run up to 6 PM, which is very exhausting for day scholars. Many events are always organized on our campus, and many scholarships are provided.

Some things about NSUT that you should know
Placements: Placements have been rather good for the past few years. Many companies have come to the college, and many students are placed. The average package is approximately 18 LPA. Many companies also come for internships, which many students get. Companies like Google, Meta , and Zomato have also come.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. There are many facilities in our university which make studying so much easier for students. There are computer labs, classrooms equipped with smartboards, and many more things which have made studying more interactive and fun. I am a day scholar.
Faculty: Faculty is good. They have a unique way of teaching which is distinctive to their own. The curriculum is good and updated to the new census. Exams are taken two times in a semester. Mid-sems which are of 20 marks, end-sems which are of 50 marks, and the rest 30 are of internals.
Other: I chose mathematics and computer science, which specialises in computer science engineering, because I liked it when academics and technology mix to make a wonderful thing. The crowd is good, and there are festivals organised in the university, which makes it enjoyable.

Harsh truth of NSUT which no one will tell you.
Placements: In the recent years, because of recession, the percentage of placed students has decreased, but it is not that bad in my branch of Mathematics and Computing. The percentage varies from 80-90%. Last year, the average package offered was 13 LPA, but I don't know about the highest and the lowest packages. All the top companies you know hire our branch students like FAANG, etc. For internships, you need to work hard. 5-10% students got internships last year from our branch in Atlassian, Sprinkler, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities are awesome, you get AC classrooms to study and there is a Wi-Fi connection also, so no need to worry about the internet. There is also a Library of 2 floors which contains all the facilities like water, washrooms, Wi-Fi, books, previous year papers, etc.
Faculty: The teachers are nice here, they know how to teach in an easy way to the students. They didn't differentiate between the toppers and weak students, they want to connect with the students and they provide their mobile numbers as well if you are nervous to ask in the classroom. The semester exams are neither too hard not too easy, they are average and one can score good if they prepare 2 weeks before the exams. The passing percentage is 40%.
Other: Actually I didn't want this course. I got this course in the 4th round of counseling at JAC Delhi, but this course will make you placement ready as they teach the subjects which will be asked by the companies in your placements. You have to also prepare on your own, the college won’t teach you everything. East and West Campuses are a waste of time, they don't get any placements here in the main campus, so don't take admission there. In fact, take admission in a lower branch.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of the faculty, really good infrastructure and facilities etc.
Placements: About 30-40% of overall students are placed approximately this session. The highest package was from Google (in my knowledge) which was about 62.5 lakhs P. And one of my friends was able to crack it. They selected the students based on their CGPA if they had done any internship, and which company it was. I guess the lowest package still has yet to come because placement season just started this year in July. Companies that came for hiring were:- Google, Microsoft, Urban Company, Zomato, Uber, etc. Approx 20-25 students from my class got internships. Most roles offered were:- Software Engineer, Backend and Frontend developer, Project Manager, etc. Out of 10 companies, 6 always reject our branch, don't know why. Maybe they think we are not capable of doing so. But top leading companies accept students from all branches.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is awesome but there is a lack of hygiene in the college washrooms of old buildings. They still have that bad smell. Old classes are being upgraded to smart classes. The library is a really great place to study in the college cause it is spacious enough, but in most of the corners of the library, you will find couples doing their love where no one can see them. That's the only bad thing, they just occupy the seat for no reason if they are not studying. Girls' hostels are equipped with AC but boys don't have those privileges they either have to bring their own watercooler or just live under the ceiling fan in summer.
Faculty: The faculty is good and they are well qualified but they don't have the faculty for specific subjects. They just put someone random on that subject and they even tell us that, they are teaching this subject for 1st or maybe 2nd time. They are not clear themselves so how can they clear our doubts regarding the subjects? But still, they do their best to teach that subject even If it's their first time. About 60% of faculty teaching quality is average but the rest 40% are good enough that they make you understand the whole subject in class and don't need an explanation from somewhere else. Smester exams are not that difficult. Pass percentage is always above 90% in my knowledge.

Students also asked

Q:   Can I join NSIT directly?

A:

No, the institute does not offer any facility that offers direct admission to any of the courses offered at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) (formerly known as Netaji Subhas Instiute of Technology). Students must fulfill the minimum eligibility for the course to which they are willing to take admission.

NSUT offers a wide range of UG, PG, and doctoral-level courses under numerous specialisations. Netaji Subhas Institute University of Technology (NSUT) course admissions are based on various national-level entrance examinations like JEE-Main, GATE, CAT, CUET, and many others. Students can visit the institute's official website to get information related to the required minimum eligibility.

Q:   Can I get B.Tech at NSIT with 75 percentile in JEE?

A:

Getting into NSIT's B.Tech programme with a just 75 percentile JEE Main score is extremely challenging.
Popular fields like electronics and computer Science typically have closing ranks for the General category that are less than 2000.
This usually means to a score above 200 or a 99+ percentile on the JEE Main.Even for the reserved categories (OBC, SC, and ST), the cutoffs fall below 10,000 and are in the range of 95+ percentile.
The NSIT computer Science JEE Main closing percentile in 2022 was:
SC - 98.23, ST - 96.32, General - 99.91, OBC - 99.21

Therefore, there is very little to no chance of getting into NSIT with a rank of less than 30,000 or a 75 percentile.
This percentile score means that the engineering colleges you could potentially attend are much less popular.

Q:   How are the placements at NSUT?

A:

More than 320 companies participated in the 2024 drive, mainly from the Tech sector. The highest number of offers was also made in the Tech sector. Check the complete insights of NSUT placements 2024 from the table below:

Q:   Which is a better college to pursue CSE, DTU or NSIT?

A:

Both DTU and NSUT accepts JEE Main scores, followed by JAC Delhi counselling process for admission to the BTech courses. As per the JEE Main 2024 cutoff, the closing rank for CSE was 5864 during the Round 4 Seat Allotment for the General AI category students. While for NSUT, the Round 4 closing rank stood at 6058. So, considering the cutoff, DTU is comparitely more tough to get into for CSE admission.

As per the NIRF 2023 rankings, DTU was ranked 29th and NSUT was ranked 60th position in the Engineering category. Candidates can refer to the table below to consider other aspects, such as the CSE course fee and the average package for both institutes, before making a decision.

DTUINR 3.54 LakhINR 13 LPA
NSUTINR 3.54 LakhINR 16 LPA

Note: NSUT offers Computer Engineering.

Q:   Is NSUT good for BBA?

A:
{Source: BBA students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:

* Experienced and knowledgeable faculty members
* Relevant course structure and curriculum
* Average salary package ranging from 4 LPA to 5 LPA
* Good infrastructure, including air-conditioned classrooms, clean washrooms, and sports facilities
* Opportunities for extracurricular activities, events, and festivals
* Scholarships are provided to students
* Placements are improving, with over 60% of students placed annually

Cons:

* Limited information available about placements due to the course being relatively new (launched in 2019)
* Feedback suggests that some faculty members may not be thorough in their subjects
* Repetitive curriculum and unnecessary courses
* Old classroom infrastructure needs improvement
* Unhygienic hostel conditions

Overall, NSUT seems to have potential for BBA students, especially those looking for a strong foundation in business education. While there are areas for improvement, the faculty, infrastructure, and opportunities for growth seem promising. As the course evolves and matures, we can expect to see even better outcomes for graduates.
