There are really good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: Around 60% of the students were placed from our course. The highest salary offered in our college is Rs. 26,000 per month, and the lowest salary offered is Rs. 10,000 per month. There are no recruiting companies for our course, or students didn't get internships from our course.

Infrastructure: Our campus is huge. Many courses are also offered in our college. Both the facilities and infrastructure are good in our department. Wi-Fi is available, but the speed is poor. Labs and classrooms are huge and also clean enough. There is a huge library with many new and old books which is also very good. There is no hostel in our college, but messes are available. The quality of food available in the canteen is average. Many cultural programmes are conducted by our college like sports, dramas, games, singing, etc.

Faculty: Faculty members here are good enough to encourage us and teach us. They are very helpful and highly qualified. They are also very knowledgeable because some of them have a PhD, while some have an M.Sc degree. The teaching quality is above average. This course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready for the biotechnology field, agricultural field, microbiology field, etc. The semester exams are very moderate in this college. The pass percentage is 25% of marks, but around 90% of students passed out last semester, which is very good.

Other: I chose this course because I love the biology subject very much from the 8th standard. The best things about our course are that we gained very much knowledge of animals, plants, microbes and how we look after them for humankind.

It is a very good college with very supportive teachers and helpful students union.

Placements: A students' counselling cell is available in the institution. There is a committee that meets the representatives of different organisations and arranges seminars and workshops for students. Representatives from different organisations conduct campus recruitment drives throughout the year for the students of different streams.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. Facilities like well-ventilated classrooms, recreational areas, hostel facilities for boys and girls, indoor and outdoor games, a well-stocked library, seamless internet and Wi-Fi connectivity, medical facilities, etc., are available on the campus.

Faculty: The faculty members in our college are very good. Each department has both experienced senior faculty and very energetic junior faculty members. The teaching method is satisfying. Teachers are very dedicated and responsible. They are highly qualified and experienced to teach the students. The course curriculum is diverse which includes three science streams, commerce and arts. Honours course and general course are also offered.

Other: Regular events are celebrated in the college both by the individual departments and the students union. Events like Independence day, Republic day, Saraswati Puja, Holi, Christmas, etc., are organised. Events are celebrated by the teachers, students, and staff members. The campus atmosphere during the celebration is wonderful. During these events, students can have a much-needed break and refreshment from the monotonous studies, and they can also strengthen the bond between students and teachers.

New Alipore College - a lovable college in my life. The faculty and staff are good and friendly.

Placements: Some of my friends and I went to M.Sc in Zoology to pursue masters, and after that, we are interested in PhD in zoology from Calcutta or other universities. My another friend has interest in clinical research, and he had completed it from the AMRI hospital with the help of Jadavpur University, one became a medical representative, and now he is successfully established. Some went for the common entrance examinations of government jobs including forest service related exams. Subject Biology has a vast place in research and teaching, including the role of professor. Although it is true that biology including zoology is not a professional course, it is research-based. When I was studying, our HOD released a book which was of a PhD level. It is true that this college doesn't organize any placements as my subject zoology is not a graduate professional course like B.Tech and MBA, so no student gets the placement with the help of college, and no companies have visited the campus. So nobody gets any internship from the college. In case of stipend, you can go to Swami Vivekananda merit-cum-means scholarship arranged by West Bengal Government or caste-related stipend offered by West Bengal Government. A concession of college fees is arranged by the college, and it will be glad to the reader that compared to all the other colleges, this college takes minimum fees for excursion and course fees. In the final year, we went on an excursion to Sikkim with Rs. 4,000, which is unbelievable to others.

Infrastructure: In our college, the infrastructure varies from department to department. The chemistry department in this college makes it one of the top colleges in Kolkata. Our department and botany department are also well-organized. Computers and physics department are also better than others. Hostels including ladies hostel are situated in this college, but the canteen is not good. However, the union is trying to make it better.

Faculty: The faculty members are helpful. The college staff are very helpful, well-behaved, and friendly with us. They also give good friendy suggestions to us. At the time of our preparation for examinations, professors give us notes and suggestions related to exams. I love Zoology. It is an interesting subject as I get a lot of knowledge about human beings and animals. In this course, we have interesting research-based semi-medical subjects like immunology, genetics, microbiology, evolution etc. Practicals inspire me a lot. Nervous system and arterial system of vertebrates are opened by dissecting white rat, lata fish etc. The bone study in this subject also inspires me, and this subject amazes me.

Other: Union dadas are very helpful and silent. Readers are glad to know that there is only one union in this college.

Really good college with lots of open spaces and highly qualified faculty.

Placements: No placements are currently provided from the colleges offering arts, commerce and science degrees under University of Calcutta. The quality of study provided ensures suitable jobs to deserving students anywhere. The college also provides co-curricular activities which are an added feature in one's biodata and helps to procure a job.

Infrastructure: Well equipped labs, large classrooms, very nice library, modern canteen, wifi present. Sports tournaments are held regularly comprising indoor and outdoor sports and an annual track and field event. Seasonal and local cultural programs are held and organized neatly creating a festive environment for all students and teachers.

Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful, dedicated and knowledgeable. Both classic and modern interactive teaching methods are practiced. Modern equipment like digital projectors and 3d models are used to demonstrate. Exciting excursions are held in field related subjects and students are taken to interesting places.

Other: The overall environment is very good. The staff is helpful and friendly. Teachers very supportive. Classes are held strictly in schedule. Subjects of arts, commerce and science are taught here with both hons and general under the syllabus of University of Calcutta.

The untold truth of the decreasing literacy rate and increasing Dadagiri in Calcutta.

Placements: No placement is provided. Don't ever get admission in this college. This is more like a party house than an institution to learn something. It will destroy the last hope of leaf, which is still hanging in your career tree. I am not someone to criticize it. It had taken my money and time-crunched it and threw it in the dustbin of Calcutta University (the worst in the world in terms of career-making).

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. But of no use, because not managed properly. Professor are good and one of the best in cities. But college reputation is very bad. You can find the canteen to hang around, playground for playing sports and library to study with focus. But in CU reputation of this college is very bad. The first impression will always be bad because of the name of the college.

Faculty: Faculty are good. As I said the professors are educated and have great experience. But the timetable of the college is such that you won't get a chance to gain that knowledge. Politicians should stay away and should keep the politics away from these institutions, in this way they will be disturbing student's career and the national interest to compete with the world without their youth power.
