Candidates are selected through various national-level entrance tests which include IIT JAM, CCMN, JEE Main, GATE, CCMT, NIMCET, MAT, GMAT, CAT, CMAT, etc. NIT Agartala comprises 13 departments that offer more than 20 courses in different streams such as Science, IT and Software, Engineering etc. Candidates are selected through multiple national-level entrance tests for these courses. The BTech course fees at NIT Agartala range between INR 3.5 lakh- INR 5 lakh. The duration of the course is for four to five years. Q:   Can I get admission in NIT Agartala in the BTech Mechanical Engineering course, if my rank is between 60000 and 65000?

A: 

Last year, the closing rank for BTech in Mechanical Engineering was 62730, which is close to this range. This was for the General category under the All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since the cutoff keeps changing year on year, it is advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission to NIT Agartala.

The difficulty level of NIMCET is normal. Questions from computer awareness sections is of BCA/BSc IT level while English, logical reasoning and Mathematics questions are of intermediate level. However, the questions asked in NIMCETs are tricky and required in-depth understanding of the subjects. Students need to have conceptual understanding of each topics to get a good score in the exam. Students who studies NCERT and have good understanding of topics can get a decent score in NIMCET.

Q:   Can a final year student apply for MBA at NIT Agartala?

A: 

Yes, a final year students can also apply for MBA at NIT Agartala. A valid GMAT score will be applicable for foreign students only.

Students appearing at their final year graduation examination may also apply (with eligibility criteria up to last completed semester) Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally and candidates have to submit certificate of completion of the graduation degree. If they are not able to fulfil the eligibility criteria or unable to submit certificate of completion of the graduation degree, their admission will stand cancelled.

A: 

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Q:   How much rank should I score to get IIIT Allahabad?

A: 

IIIT Allahabad accpets JEE Main score for admission to the BTech courses. As per the IIIT Allahabad cutoff 2023, the Last Round closing rank for BTech ranged between 5924 and 9558, among which Information Technology was the most competitive specialisation. The Round 1 closing rank for BTech ranged between 4817 and 8428 for BTech. 

So, considering the previous year Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks, candidates seeking admission to IIIT Allahabad must secure a rank over and above 4800 and 9600 for the General ALL India category candidates.
