NIT Agartala is one of the top technical institutions which is govt. funded. Candidates interested to take admission into this premier academy need to take the Joint entrance examination (JEE) Mains and advanced levels. JEE is a national level entrance designed especially for students' entry into IITs and NITs. After a candidate gets through with the JEE exams, he/she is required to enroll into the couselling process of Joint seat allocation authority (JoSAA). There, at the counselling procedure, candidate needs to pick NIT Agartala as a preferred choice. Candidates are shorlisted according to their merit scored in JEE. If alloted a seat, candidate should pay the fees of NIT Agartala and then visit on field to complete the admission process. 

National Institute of Technology Agartala offers admission to the M.Tech course on the basis of candidates' performance in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
