    NIT Calicut admissions are entirely entrance-based for all its UG & PG courses. Candidates are shortlisted based on their past academic records along with their scores in the respective entrance exams accepted for different courses.     Q:   What is the SILA Scholarship at NIT Calicut?

    A: 

    The SILA Scholarship at NIT Calicut is offered to BTech students in the Department of Civil Engineering. The scholarship is given to those students who have scored the highest and the second the highest in their first, second, and third years of study. The scholarship will be offered to six students in total. The highest scorer will get an amount of INR 50,000, and the second-the highest student will get INR 20,000.

    Q:   Can I get direct admission in NIT Calicut?

    A: 

    No, NIT Calicut does not facilitate direct admission to any of the courses. Admission is entirely based on merit in the national-level exams, including JEE Main,  GATE,  IIT JAM,  CAT,  NIMCET,  UGC NET, etc. Candidates are further required to participate in other selection rounds, such as counselling, written exam, and interview as well, as per the applied course selection criteria.

    Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

    A: 

    Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice. 

    Q:   What is the CAT 2024 exam date?

    A: 

    The CAT exam is always conducted on the last Sunday of November every year so the CAT 2024 exam is expected to be conducted on Nov 24, 2024. Official announcement of the CAT 2024 exam date will be made by the convening IIM on Jul 30, 2024. The announcement will be made at the iimcat.ac.in website as well as in all the national dailies across India. We at Shiksha also notify the aspirants through our communication channels. Registrations cum application process for CAT 2024 will begin from the first week of August and end in the third week of September 2024.
