Yes, you can. Participate in the counselling, and opt for a good college. You have scored enough marks in JEE Mains and class 12th to get admission in a good engineering college.

NIT Calicut is counted amongst the top 5 NITs, while NIT Rourkela is counted amongst the top 10 for various reasons. Branches like Electronics and Communication Engineering(ECE), Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in NIT Rourkela have good faculty and excellent infrastructure. While Computer Science has very good placements. The other branches in NIT Rourkela too boast of state of the art laboratories and enthusiastic professors. The placement scenario is improving every year. Despite these, NIT Calicut is often held in higher esteem in most technical institutes rating by public and private agencies. In case this question has been asked because you might have to forego a branch of your choice to study at a higher ranked institute, I would suggest to go with the lower ranked institute with your preferred branch of study. After all, almost all NITs provide more or less equal opportunities and scope afte a B. Tech degree. Check out the official websites here: http://www.nitc.ac.in/ http://www.nitrkl.ac.in/
