Q:   Can I get admission in BTech at NIT Kurukshetra without JEE Main?

A:

No, the JEE Main is what gives admissions to the BTech programmes at NIT Kurukshetra. A great 4 year experience, with multicultural experience from all around India.
Placements: In the IT and CS branches, NIT KKR has 90+% placement, and for branches like Civil, Mechanical, and Production, placement percentages range from 50% to 80%. Top recruiters this year are Accenture, Hero, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Adobe, and L'Oréal. Students secure internships in their 2nd year as well, getting interns from colleges like Stanford; for example, one student got in Quantum Photonics.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi speeds are 500+ Mbps, and hostel infrastructure is decent; mess food is overpriced, and talking about sports facilities, I would rate those 3/5. Classrooms are also decent, with each room equipped with projectors or Samsung smart TVs. The library is very big in size and is 24/7 available for students.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified, but some lack a sense of responsibility towards their work, many a time M.Tech students to take our classes, and they teach in a very friendly manner. Classes held in the computer department are top-notch, and professionalism in professors and staff varies from department to department.

NIT Kurukshetra: The Review
Placements: Around 55% of students got placed in the civil engineering branch last year. The highest package offered was 40 LPA with an average package of 9 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is good in my opinion. There is a lot of greenery in the campus. All classrooms are well-maintained, with around 8-9 fans and 3 ACs in each classroom. The labs are also well-equipped with the necessary instruments for performing experiments. The college has a large and well-stocked library. Although there is no Wi-Fi in classrooms, the hostel provides Wi-Fi through LAN cables for each student. Each student has their own LAN port.
Faculty: The professors are knowledgeable, well-qualified, and classes are conducted on time. The overall teaching quality is good, but many students rely on online resources like YouTube or Google just before exams. The course curriculum is quite relevant as it includes lab classes that provide practical experience. Semester exams are relatively easy if you study for about 4-5 days before the exam. The passing percentage is around 40%.
Other: I chose this course because I am from Haryana, and this college is the nearest NIT to my home compared to others. There are many events organized in the college. If you are passionate about any hobby, you can pursue it here. There are also many scholarships available. The college has an SBI branch that provides loans to NIT students and assists with other banking-related work. There is a good market inside the college and a small café as well. One of the best things about the college is that seniors are very supportive, and there is no ragging at all—literally "zero ragging."

NIT KKR: The worst nightmare
Placements: Although placements are usually good, many companies only occasionally offer 4 LPA due to the non-profit nature of the industry. Only 64% of the students placed here last year received a placement, and the highest package goes up to 40 LPA, which is not good, and the lowest is only 3.2 LPA. Annually, fewer companies arrive and provide fewer services.
Infrastructure: The number of courses offered has been rising annually, and some courses have very few or no teachers. The infrastructure is also poor because many of the buildings have not been renovated in decades. The hostel facilities are the worst. At hostels, there is no hygiene and cleanliness.
Faculty: The only teacher we have is V.P. Singh, the future director of our college. He gives us instructions, but when it comes to homework, he says he will only accept the first five submissions before letting the others finish it. And when it comes to exams, then they take exams every month named as mid-sem, they take two mid-sems.
Other: I guess there is this one time when a girl student got molested or raped, and the college didn’t care about the mental stress of the student; they just cared about suppressing the matter and did it very effectively.

Very satisfactory academics by higher institute.
Placements: Almost 50% of students were placed last year, with packages varying from 4 LPA to 40 LPA. Some companies like Cisco, Tata Electronics, and Flipkart offered positions to many students. The roles offered are generally at a junior level, but the specific role depends on the students' skills. Internships also follow a similar placement ratio.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is well-maintained and designed. Every lecture hall is equipped with a smartboard, projector, and air conditioning. Ethernet cables are provided for the classrooms as well as the hostels. The library is open 24/7 for students and all faculty. The mess food is very healthy, and there are no compromises on food quality.
Faculty: Teachers are very educated and well-qualified for the curriculum of the course, and their method of teaching is unique. The course curriculum is very relevant for further career development because the institute provides both programme electives and open elective courses. Semester exams are above average in difficulty, and more care is required for examination.

The college is good and faculty is supportive, environment is green everywhere, campus is awesome.
Placements: The placement records at my college are good. Since my branch is civil engineering, almost 50% of the students got placed because there are fewer companies that recruit students in the civil specialization. 1: The highest package in my course is 25 lacs, the average is 16–17 lacs, and the lowest was 8–10 lacs p.a. 2: The top recruiting companies are JSL, L&T, Tata steel and many other related civil branch. 3:Almost 45–50% got internship opportunities and the companies are JSL, IOCL, ONGC, etc. 4: The top roles offered in my course are junior engineer, contractor, trainer, and assistant in various field projects.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my civil department and the college is very awesome. Everywhere, there is a lot of greenery. 1: There are basically all the facilities available in my department, such as Fluid mechanics lab, Structural analysis lab, Concrete lab, etc. Well ventilated and well maintained. All the rooms are well ventilated and A.C. is available in every room as labs. 2: The quality of the facilities in my hostel is nice. All the rooms have enough space and are well ventilated. The food quality of the mess is not so good. You have to eat the food as your last option. There is no other way. 3: All the best, guys.
Faculty: 1: The teachers are helpful as well as well qualified. The teaching quality is good. All the teachers are very supportive but you will find some teachers to be rude. 2: I will say about 30–40% of it will make the students ready for the industry because there are fewer practicals in comparison to theory. 3: The semester exams are not very difficult. I would say that it ranges from easy to moderate. It depends on the preparation of the students. 4: All the best, guys.
Other: 1 : I have chosen this course to become an assistant engineer. The best thing about this course is that it is very practical and fun loving. 2: I would suggest the changes in this course are regular field projects given to the students. 3: The biggest festival in my college is Techspardha. It includes various events such as Bidbuzz related to finance, treasure hunt and many other exciting events.

Students also asked

Q:   Can I get into NIT Kurukshetra with 95 percentile?

A:

A 95 percentile in entrance exams would raise a candidate's prospect of getting into NIT Kurukshetra, as the conventional cutoff for NIT ranges from 85 to 95 percentile on most seats. This also includes factors such as the cutthroat competition that may exist for a particular course and the sheer number of applicants.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Q:   How can I get admission in NIT Kurukshetra?

A:

The admissions are mainly through national-level entrance exams such as for undergraduate programs from JEE main while postgraduate level applicants qualify through GATE. After successful qualification in entrance examination, candidates must participate in counseling coordinated by JoSAA or CCMT in respective conditions for seat allocation. Eligible with a good rank in the entrance examination, the student is sure to get admission in NIT Kurukshetra into one of its numerous various programs.

Q:   Is NIT Kurukshetra worth it?

A:

It's important to score well in JEE Main and meet the institute's eligibility criteria to be considered for admission.

The NIT Kurukshetra cutoff 2023 for BTech courses varied between 8104 and 45868 in the last round, with BTech in CSE being the most competitive specialization. Apart from the competitive JEE Main cutoff, the institute has also been ranked 58th by NIRF Ranking 2023 in the Engineering category. In terms of placements, NIT Kurukshetra has a strong record, with the highest package and average package offered during BTech placements 2022 standing at INR 125 LPA and INR 13.89 LPA, respectively.
