To apply for the NIT Warangal MTech course, candidates must apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering also known as GATE. NIT Warangal admits students on the basis of candidates' performance in the GATE entrance test. The final selection is based on CCMT counselling process. The counselling body releases a cutoff list for each counselling round. Students with a score equal to or more than cutoff marks become eligible for seat allotment.

To apply for NIT Warangal MCA course, candidates should have passed a three-year degree or equivalent degree from a recognised University/Institute with a minimum aggregate of 60% (of all the years) or an equivalent CGPA of 6.5/10.
