Hey there!
I am a final year IS student at NMAMIT, NITTE and my CET rank was 4.5k I tried so hard till third round but I couldn't get CS through CET. But in my case I belong to OC category if you belong to any other category, you might have a chance just try for it. But after seeing four years (almost 4 years) I can tell you that there exists no difference between CS and IS the only difference might subjects will be jumbled but both CS and IS have to go through the same set of subjects so even if you get IS I think you should go for it.
Hope this answers your question. All the best mate :)

NMIT is the best college for CS branch in Bangalore. It has a good academic background. So, I prefer you to join there.

NMIT is better to pursue your engineering in Bangalore. It is having good academic reputation and placements with qualified lecturers. So, you can prefer ECE in that college.

1. Beautiful Environment
Surrounded by western ghats and good places nearby NMAMIT has one of the good environment like similar to that of IIT-Bombay.
2. Good Students (especially localites)
Localites coming from CET, generally, are exceptionally good in studies, you can easily get notes and doubts being solved by them and clear the exam.
3. Decent Faculty and Autonomous Syllabus
I do not say all faculty members are great as one of them was a disaster in engineering graphics for me in my first year. But, in general, if you compare it to all the colleges which are Non-IIT or NIT, NMAMIT has one of the best faculty members in terms of teaching and as attendance is very strict (85%) you may just pass by listening to the class without any preparation. The autonomous syllabus has come as a boon as in CSE and ISE some of the electives are very good, for which most of the product firms would pick you just for that.
