NSD (National School of Drama) is one of the most prestigious institutions in India for theatre training. To take admission in NSD, you will need to go through a rigorous selection process. Here are the steps you can follow:
Check the eligibility criteria: You need to have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline to be eligible for admission to NSD's three-year Diploma course in dramatic arts. So, you meet this eligibility criteria. Prepare for the preliminary round: The preliminary round of the NSD Entrance Exam consists of a written test and a practical test. The written test will evaluate your general knowledge, reasoning abilities, and communication skills. The practical test will assess your aptitude for theatre and performing arts. You should prepare for this by reading extensively, practicing your communication skills, and attending theatre workshops. Apply for the entrance exam: The application form for the NSD Entrance Exam will be available on their website. You will need to fill in your personal and academic details and pay the application fee. Keep a scanned copy of your passport-sized photograph and signature ready for uploading. Appear for the entrance exam: Once you have successfully registered for the entrance exam, you will receive an admit card. The exam is usually held in the month of May or June. You will need to appear for both the written and practical tests. Prepare for the final round: If you clear the preliminary round, you will be called for the final round, which will consist of an audition and an interview. The audition will test your skills in acting, voice modulation, and movement. The interview will assess your personality, communication skills, and overall potential. Wait for the final results: After the final round, NSD will announce the results on their website. If you are selected, you will need to submit your academic documents, medical certificates, and other required documents. It is important to note that the admission process may be subject to change. You should visit the NSD website regularly to stay updated on the latest information. Good luck!
