Lateral entry engineering is nothing, but after completing your Diploma you get admission for direct 2nd year entry your 1st year is waived off. This is known as lateral entry, you can get lateral entry only after completing your Diploma. Hope

You need to have minimum 60% marks in class 12th board exams. You must have passed all the subjects in this exam. Apart from this, you entrance rank should be also good enough to get you a seat in computer science engineering.

Hello Om,
In Maharashtra, almost 40% seats in engineering could not be filled. This means irrespective of score, you will get admission. But I will advise to go to career counselor. Please seek some other profession.
