Hi, Welingkar accepts CAT along with other entrance exam scores such as CMAT CET, XAT etc. A minimum CAT score of about 80 percentile should ideally get you a GD-PI call. Good luck.

Hi. According to stats Welingkar might seem to be a little better but if you also compare the percentage of students placed then IBS Hyderabad is better than Welingkar in terms of placement which is the most crucial parameter used while comparing any two colleges. Hello! Welingkar is certainly better among the two colleges due to its brand name, location advantage, and good placements. However, if you're more interested in pursuing MBA in IT, SCIT is an ideal choice. Good luck!

I got 89.71 in CAT 2017. What are my chances in K.J Somaiya, SIMSREE, Welingkar, and JBIMS?

If anyone has CMAT percentile between 95 and 100, he/she can apply for Jaipuria Institute of Management. Remember the CMAT/MAT/XAT/CAT score contribute to 45% weightage only during admission process, other factors like your GD, PI, past experience, and your academic performance contribute to 65%. So, prepare well for the personal interview and group discussion also. Let me share the weightage of scores during admission process, it will clear the doubts from the first part of the question:
Score in CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ GMAT 45% weightage
Case-based Group Discussion - 15%
Personal Interview - 20%
Academic Performance - 15%
Work Experience, Sports and Extracurricular Activities - 5%
If you do well in others too, with such decent score in CMAT you might be eligible for good scholarship as well. Now, regarding the second part of the question. The ministry of Human resource has place both Principal L N Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research and Jaipuria Institute of Management in the top 75 b-schools of India. So, both are good. However the choice is yours. You can do analysis, gather placement data, most importantly it depends on where you live. I hope you know that Mumbai is the most expensive city to live in India. My preference would be Jaipuria Institute of Management - Lucknow.
