Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Com programs at Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Government College?

    A:
    {Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Com Programs at Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Government College

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's what we found:

    * Placement rate: The college claims to provide placements to every B.Com student in their final semester, which means almost all students get placed (around 100%).

    * Salary packages: While individual salaries may vary, one student reported getting a salary package of INR6 LPA, while another received INR3.6 LPA.

    * Recruiting companies: The top recruiting companies mentioned include State Bank and Deloitte.

However, there seems to be a mixed bag when it comes to the effectiveness of the placement cell:

    * Limited internship opportunities: Although around 72% of students got internships at VV Kale, this might indicate limited opportunities compared to other colleges.

    * No guarantee of placement: Unfortunately, one student mentioned that the college doesn't provide guaranteed placements, leaving students to find jobs themselves.

Overall, while the college seems to make efforts to place its B.Com students, there may be room for improvement in terms of providing more internship opportunities and ensuring a smoother transition into the workforce.

    Don't get admissions here .
Placements: Max 3-4 LPA placements for a maximum of 10-12 students only. Placements are not good, and firms who need only less paying employees come here. Totally worth it. Some students do not even get to know when placements happen. They get to know after placements.
Infrastructure: Pathetic except the principal's office. Washrooms are the worst. Canteen is for name only. Washrooms do not even have water to wash hands. College does not have water to drink. Classroom does not have light, and fans are only for teachers. Buildings are weak.
Faculty: 80% students sit on the floor in exams. Teachers are not responsible for anything except salary on time, tea on time, lunch on time. Some teachers are really good, and some are not reviewable. Some teachers don't have manners to talk to students.

Absolutely low future because of no placement.
Placements: 1. No recent students have been placed in our course. 2. We have been offered only a package of about INR 3 lpa. 3. No one recruits directly from the college. 4. The top roles offered in my course are Accountant, tax, and business development manager in a company.
Infrastructure: 1. The infrastructure and facilities are of poor quality. There is no facility for Wi-Fi or good seating arrangements. Also, in the classrooms, the fan does not work properly. 2. There is no facility at the college, and the canteen is also private. A medical facility is sometimes available.
Faculty: 1. The teachers are good. They really taught me well about the courses, and they knew well about the seminars and lectures. All teachers are not good. Some teachers leave the class because they feel bored. 2. I can't say much about the relevance, but there is no big future in this course. 3. It's quite easy to understand the language of books, so it's a bit harder.
Other: I joined this course to learn new things.

It is a good college for middle-class students, but it does not provide placements.
Placements: Our college did not provide placements. You must find it yourself. The highest salary package offered was 5 LPA and the lowest salary package offered was 2.6 LPA. Top recruiting companies like HCL, Whirlpool, etc., visited our campus. Internships were not provided.
Infrastructure: Our college did not provide good infrastructure. Air-conditioners were available in the head office and the library. Wi-Fi was not available. There was a private canteen. The quality of the food in the canteen was good.
Faculty: Our teachers were excellent. They are very humble. Every teacher was friendly. The course curriculum was relevant. It prepared students as the best accountants. Semester exams were average.
Other: I chose this course because, after 12th grade, we had to do UG first, so it's relevant. Events and fests are not held. They conducted teachers gathering day. They told us to donate to the college premises.

It is not a good college to take admission.
Placements: Around 20% of students got placed in our college. One student got placed with a salary package of 6 LPA and another student got placed with a salary package of 3.6 LPA. All the recruiting MNCs are State Bank and Deloitte. Around 72% of students got internships at VV Kale. The role offered was an accountant. Placements provided in our college were not good.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi was not provided in our college but the labs, classrooms, and the library were good. The quality of the food served was good. Canteen and medical facilities were provided. Sports and games were not good as there were no trainers or sports items like basketball and cricket bats but a basketball court was available.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were knowledgeable and supportive. One of our teachers had an IPC role. The course curriculum made students industry-ready. Exams were not difficult. Students need to focus on study. The pass percentage was 60%.
Other: Fests and all other things organised by the administration of our college were not good.

Know the college. It has good faculty.
Placements: There is not much placements in my college. The highest package for my course is 4 LPA and the lowest is 2 LPA. Top roles are manager and CEO of some small companies.
Infrastructure: All the types of facilities are available in my college for my course. In library, there is a shortage of books but the reading area is very good. You can go and read there without any disturbance. Labs are also good but Wi-Fi is not available for the students. Classrooms are good.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and helpful, no doubt. They help students in their studies well. The semester exams are not much hard, if you are average in your studies then you can easily pass your exams without any back. Pass percentage is almost 80%.

The College is good and the security, environment, atmosphere are all good.
Placements: The College is under government. Placement in the College is not good. But the level of studies is good. The companies don't provide higher paid jobs. The students who are good in studies had received a good placement.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college is good. Atmosphere of the College is too good. The greenery of the college is great for health. The students are happy and comfortable for study. The college provides higher technology upgraded computer labs, Science labs and libraries.
Faculty: Faculty of the college is good. The teachers at the college are helpful, very sweet in nature and also give us knowledge about future. The teachers are helpful in teaching the course and help to understand every type of chapters and new topics, they make them easy to understand.
Other: B.Com is very helpful to achieve your goals.
