Admissions for B.E. and B.Tech programs are mainly through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling process, which takes into account the scores of the candidates from their 10th and 12th examinations. A minimum aggregate of 45% in the qualifying exams is required. Scores from the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) are also accepted for postgraduate programs. While meeting the eligibility criteria is important, the admission process is not that complex and is, therefore accessible to many aspiring students.

For the academic year 2024, the closing rank for B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering was the most sought-after course under General AI quota, which is at 113506, and the least desirable course was B.E. in Geoinformatics Engineering, had a closing rank of 195428. The cutoffs are not that high and are moderate and there is competition for the admissions. Class 12 scores play a role in counseling TNEA to determine the ranks.

After going to the TNEA website and providing all details in their application, students will be asked to get certificate verification. Merit list prepared on Class 12 marks obtained by candidates in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. After the release of the merit list, students can fill their course preferences in the choice filling stage. Finally, seat allotment takes place based on ranks and preferences, and then PCET confirms admission.

At breakfast time, options consist of idli, dosa, upma, and pongal, but lunch and dinner comprise common South Indian fare. Along with tea and snacks served at designated time. The food is generally okayish though some reviews indicate that it may not always meet everyones' expectations for variety of reasons The mess operates on a fixed schedule and students must follow to specific timings for meals.
