Yes, direct admission in RMK Engineering College happens mainly through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) process. Candidates are selected based on 10+2 completed with minimum marks obtained in aggregate in physics, chemistry, and mathematics equal to 60%. Direct admission, in general is merit-based; however, the institute also has provisions for Diploma holders' admission into the second year engineering course directly. And it is the same with those asking for management quota where students have to pay some additional amount. Official websites for the specific college are advisable to check for updates as well as application procedures made for the following academic year.

Admission to RMK Engineering College is not much easy, especially because it happens purely on merit. While applying for undergraduate courses including B.E. and B.Tech, candidates would have passed 10+2 with at least a 60% aggregate marking in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. There aren't any entrance exams with admissions happening through TNEA counseling. Although the college has a good reputation and competitive placements, the students coming from other states have to apply under management quota, which requires additional fees. So the admission process is not so complicated and inaccessible for eligible candidates.
