B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2027
Offered by R.V.S College of Engineering and Technology - RVSCET
4.6

This college is good for engineering students. About 80-85% students got placed every year.
Placements: About 20% of students chose the mechanical branch and students got placed in many companies like TCS, Roza Technology, Zenith forgie and many more. The highest package is about 7 Lacs and the average package is 4-5 Lacs. Most of the students got internships at Tata Steel and Zenith Forgie.
Infrastructure: Rvscet provides a good environment for study. It provides many facilities like a bus, hostel, free wi-fi, smart classes, labs, medical, gym and digital library facility. The food facility in my hostel is not too good, but the sports, canteen and medical facilities are good.
Faculty: Teaching and all non-teaching staff are very supportive in nature. There teaching quality is good. The course curriculum makes students ready for industry semester exams, which are a little bit hard. We have to score about 30% to pass the semester exam.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering because I am good in physics and it gives me the me the opportunity to work in an open field. The thing that should be improved is to have more labs. Rvscet organises many festivals. And the campus surrounding it is good.

It is one of the best colleges.
Placements: op companies like Wipro, Tata Motors, etc., visit our college. Students must score 75% to get placements. The highest salary package offered is 15 LPA.
Infrastructure: Our college has a huge playground. It has computer labs with updated systems and air-conditioners. We have many types of machines and equipment in labs. The lab assistants provide each pair of students with equipment to aid in collaboration.
Faculty: All the teachers help us a lot. They are highly qualified and experienced. They teach us well, so we write our exams effortlessly. Students who pay attention in class will find the semester exams easy.
Other: There are around 170 students in our course. We have six semesters.

Nice infrastructure, good faculty, but placement is not very good.
Placements: 80% of the students got placements when I passed out, but the roles offered were not good and the salary was also not good. However, if you are capable and luck is with you, then you can get a better placement from here too (but this is rare). Top recruiting companies are INFOSYS, TECH MAHINDRA, WIPRO, IBM, etc. If you want to do an internship, then you have to search for it by yourself because no company comes here for internships.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is the only thing which is all good in this college. You will get all the labs required, and different blocks are present for different branches. Plus, you will find different labs for different branches. Classrooms are of average quality; chalk and duster boards are there. The hostel is not so good; cleanliness is not maintained properly, rooms are not so good, and food quality is not so good but you have to eat it.
Faculty: The faculty is good. You can study from class if you are regular; no extra tuition is needed. They are knowledgeable, teaching quality is average; they only stick to textbooks, no extra teaching is there. The course curriculum is relevant, which will help you when you get the job. Passing internal examinations is easy; you can pass if you pay attention in class and make all the notes correctly. But the external exams are a bit tough; you have to study for them by yourself because teachers won't teach you all the topics.
Other: I had an interest in mechanics since childhood, therefore everyone suggested I do this course. The best thing about this course is that you can find it everywhere because mechanics is everywhere, even while walking. This course would be much better if they included the theory part more rather than so many equations and derivations. Not many events happen, but there are two main events held every year: PROVENANCE and Freshers DAY. You can compete in an inter-college sports competition called FROLIC.

The college is not recommendable because the placements are poor.
Placements: In my batch of 2014-2018, only 30% of placements are provided. 2.5 LPA is the maximum package, and 1.2 LPA is the minimum package offered. TCS is the top recruiting company. 20% of students got internships from Tata Motors. The top role offered by the companies is trainee engineer.
Infrastructure: The campus is good, and Wi-Fi is available. Labs are not good. The library and classrooms are good. Hostel facilities are poor. Food and canteen facilities are poor. Medical and sports facilities are good. The facilities provided by the college are good.
Faculty: The teachers in the mechanical department are knowledgeable, and their teaching quality is very good. The teachers are very helpful. The course curriculum is relevant. Teachers are friendly.
Other: I chose it because mechanical engineering is very good in Jamshedpur, and many companies come here to offer placements. I suggest choosing the course wisely. Every year, fests and events are organised in the last month of the year. Campus surrounding looks like a village. Scholarships are provided for the toppers. Sports facilities are available. English and personality development classes are organised weekly.

Really good infrastructure and teachers.
Placements: About 85% of the student got placement. 10 LPA is the highest package and 10 k is the lowest package. Tata Steel is the top recruiter. 90% of the students got internship. This is the best private college for engineering and technology in Jamshedpur.
Infrastructure: Our college has Wi-Fi. The college has a big campus and good infrastructure. There is a big library, well-equipped labs, a big sports ground to play various sports like cricket, football etc. The quality of the facilities in the hostel is very nice and the food of the mess is good.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and have a great knowledge of their subject. The teachers are very helpful, polite and their way of speaking is really very nice. They make the students ready for the industry.
