The trainees shall be subjected to a medical examination before they are admitted to the training institute by a doctor having at least an MBBS Degree. This is done to check the medical fitness of students for the field of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. Candidates shall not have any physical disabilities or colour blindness, which may interfere in discharging the duties as an AME. Admission Requirement:

Original and attested copies of the XII, Higher Secondary Pass Certificate (for B.Sc-IT) / Bachelor's Degree Mark sheet (for PGD & M.Sc-IT)
Two recent passport-size color photos (Additional 10 photos to be kept ready)
Eligibility fees to be paid as per University norms. Before admission applicant has to pass entrance test (comprising 100 Questions from Maths, Physics, Chemistry & English).

The normal eligibility criteria for AME is 12th. But many institutions accept Diploma as equivalent to 12th and give admission. So, do not worry.

You can go abroad for CPL training. USA, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, PHILIPPINES provide the best training.
Get Class II medical Certificate from Doctors certified by DGCA. Then get your Class I Medical Certificate from Air Force stations or you can get it done from Nanavati Hospital, Mumbai or Apollo, Chennai.
If you are applying for CPL, then try to seek a job in any low cost carrier and then go for type rating.
In Cadet Programmes, everything from PPL, CPL, MEIR, UPRT to Type Rating is tailored according to the need of airliner.
Being a pilot is tough. It needs exceptional health and wealth so be prepare to lighten your pockets but the reward is the best among other career options.

Your vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.

Entrance Exam:
Candidates must have to clear the entrance exam before joining the course. Candidates must passed Bachelor's degree like Engineering with Physics and Maths subject of 55% marks along with 10+2 examination. Pilot aptitude test will be conducted during entrance exam. After clearing that, direct interview will be conducted by an Interview Control Board.

This has resulted in aviation companies in India procuring aero planes in great numbers. This in turn has resulted in increased opportunities for AME's. Hence, I would say that you will have great chances of placements, if present trend continues.
