Hi,
Currently there are two good institutions in India for CPL training. One of them being the government owned Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA) and the other CAE Gondia (NFTI).
IGRUA- located in Raebareli it is the one of the best flight school in India for ab initio CPL. IGRUA has a fleet of modern aircrafts including Diamond DA40, Zlin 24L, TB20 and the multi- engine DA 42. It also has its own airport to provide uninterrupted training. Though there is no guarantee of placement in the last few years some students have been placed in Air India. The cost for CPL at IGRUA is approximately INR 38 lakhs.
If you get your training from here you will definitely get good jobs in aviation industry.
Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy is a Private institute - The AME Training Institutes have been approved by DGCA under CAR Section 2 Series E Part VIII and were allowed to continue intake of students from time to time due to change of regulations, in view of Rule 61 and CAR 66.

As per the eligibility criteria of Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy, The candidate shall have passed minimum 10+2 class with aggregate of 50% marks in physics and mathematics, or a three years Diploma in engineering; or a higher qualification in science with physics and mathematics. The trainees shall be subjected to a medical examination before they are admitted to the training institute by a doctor having at least an MBBS degree. This is done to check the medical fitness of students for the field of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. Candidates shall not have any physical disabilities or colour blindness, which may interfere in discharging the duties as an AME. So, eyesight is not an issue here, so in my opinion you can apply.

Hi, Of course you can. The eligibility of the course is only class 12th with PCM, where as you are already a graduate engineer. In addition, there is no upper age limit for AME. Presently in India, Civil Aviation Sector is growing at an average rate of 15% per annum. This in turn is causing almost all the airlines to purchase aircraft, which in turn is causing them to employ aircraft maintenance engineers in big numbers. Therefore, as far as the job prospects are concerned, I feel there are much more prospects after AME rather than after B Tech. Best wishes to you.

Most of the institutes provide flying hours after CPL training separately. Getting a job as an airline pilot is the hardest thing to do after completing your training. No Institute guarantee the same.
