Apart from the tuition fee of INR 40,000, candidates are required to pay the one-time fee of INR 16,000 which includes admission fee, alumni membership fee, student's welfare fund, thesis fees and caution money (refundable) and the hostel fee of INR 60,000. This fee is sourced from the official website of the institute/ sanctioning body. But is subject to change.

Given below is the RGIPT BTech admission process:STEP 1: Application Process Submit the application form online. Candidates from Assam, Meghalaya, Jammu and, Kashmir are exempted from entering the Aadhaar number in the application form. However, they have to produce any Government-approved identity proof during the admission. The applicant shall follow the following application process:Step 1.1: Register as a new student and proceed to loginStep 1.2: Pay the non-refundable RGIPT BTech application fees of INR 600 + INR 108 (Taxes) for SC/ ST/ PwD and female candidates and, INR 1200 + INR 216 (Taxes) for all other candidates.Step 1.3: Fill in the personal information, address, contact details, academic details, JEE Advanced/ JEE Mains details, bank details and, upload necessary documents.Step 1.4: Submit the application form.STEP 2: Selection CriteriaCandidates are shortlisted based on the JEE Advanced or JEE Mains scores. During the preparation of the merit list, preference will be given to JEE Advanced qualified candidates and, if seats remain vacant after completion of the seat allotment in regular rounds, then those vacant seats will be filled based on JEE Mains rank.STEP 3: Seat AllotmentThe institute declares the final merit list of candidates who are required to appear for the counselling process and, pay the RGIPT BTech fees.

In the online application form, candidates must provide their personal phone number and email ID and must pay the non-refundable application fees of INR 500 (for General and OBC candidates) and, INR 250 (for SC, ST and, PwD category candidates) before filing of application form.STEP 2: Selection CriteriaFor the full-time regular registration category, candidates are shortlisted based on the GATE score or written test or interview or on the basis of any combination of these as declared by the individual department. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology does not offer any scholarship to the M.Tech programme students but provide financial assistance in the form of Institute Assistantships to students admitted under the Full Time Regular Registration Category.Presently, assistantships at INR 12,400 pm are available for GATE-qualified candidates. Non- GATE qualified candidates, admitted to the programmes at the EIB Centre will be provided with an Institute assistantship of INR 8,000 pm. A student shall be assigned duties up to eight hours per week by the departments to avail teaching assistantship. There are a large number of Institute Fellowships available for M.Tech programme students in various disciplines.
