Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Is Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology Mumbai Tier 1 or tier 2?

A:

From my point of view, it is the Tier 1 college.

As mostly students come to this college by clearing Jee Advanced, faculty is also decent here, sports facilities are average, hostels are way better than any premier institute, mess food here is decent, location is worse, placement is nearly 90 to 95% for the Petroleum and Chemical branch (that 5% people went abroad for higher studies)

RGIPT is a tier 1 engineering college as per me. It has been consistently ranked in the top 100 engineering colleges in India by various ranking agencies, including the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, as well as doctoral programs in select areas.

RGIPT has a good faculty, infrastructure, and placements. The faculty members are highly qualified and experienced, and the institute has state-of-the-art facilities. The placements at RGIPT are also good, with many students getting placed in top companies in the oil and gas, chemical, and IT sectors.

Q:   What entrance exams are accepted by Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology Mumbai for admission to B.Tech?

A:

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology Mumbai accepts the JEE Main and MHT CET entrance exams for admission to the B.Tech program. Candidates need to appear for these exams and meet the eligibility criteria to be considered for admission to the B.Tech courses offered at the institute. (eligibility may change according to the percentile as it changes every year ).

Q:   What are the cutoff marks required for B.Tech at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology Mumbai?

A:

There is nothing like the cutoff for private engineering colleges like Giet Gunupur and other similar kinds of colleges throughout the country there are too many seats remaining vacant every year.

If your Jee rank is less than 3 Lakhs then u can easily secure a seat in any of the branches according to your interest through counselling.

But if it is more than 3 Lakhs then it depends upon the demand of the college and the branch.

You can directly contact the college for the seat booking process which is also preferable if u could not do well in the JEE mains. You can take admission in any of the private colleges with this process with or without donation depending upon the availability of the seat. They will insist you make the donation even if there are seats available you just need to keep calm and simply deny and just say in reply you are unable to do so.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Q:   What is the cut off of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai?

A:

The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai cutoff 2024 has been announced for B.E specialisations. With respect to it, the last round percentile for B.E. in Mechanical Engineering was 82.68 for the General AI category. Likewise, for the Home State quota, the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai B.E. cutoff 2024 ranged between 88.5 and 95.18. The best college for engineering.
Placements: My college provides good placements and has an average package of 4.5 LPA, which is not that bad for a fresher, and the highest package placement was 52 LPA, but it was off campus overall. My college is good at package placements, and many companies come to my college.
Infrastructure: My college is located in a very good area in Andheri West, near a big ocean, and the weather is always good outside. My college campus is very attractive, classrooms are well maintained, and every class room has a smart board, which makes teaching easy.
Faculty: My college takes exams very cleverly and in a disciplined manner. They change classes for every exam so that students do not copy. 1 class has at least 2 supervisors who are very active and strict. If someone is caught cheating in an exam, strict action is taken.

Our college has good infrastructure with beach view.
Placements: Students with good CGPA get placed in our college. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Accenture, AWS, and many more. The highest salary package offered is 10 LPA and the lowest salary package is 1.5 LPA. The role offered is associate. Students can easily apply for internships online as it is very easy to find internships.
Infrastructure: Library of our college is good. Free Wi-Fi is provided if students join a committee. The canteen serves good food and there are less food stalls around the college. There is a Juhu beach view from the 1st floor. Few sports like kabaddi, etc., are available.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very knowledgeable and helpful for students anytime. Question papers include important questions suggested by teachers during classes. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering because I'm curious to learn more about machines. Our college organises a college fest, cultural events, and many more. It gives enjoyable college life.

It was a pleasure to pursue engineering here, thanks to the great campus and environment.
Placements: In 2023, a significant 70% of students from the mechanical engineering branch were successfully placed in both IT and core companies. The college played a crucial role in preparing these students for IT companies, particularly after their exams in the 6th semester. The college not only provided guidance on programming languages and coding but also facilitated internships with renowned IT companies like Cisco, DRDO, Tata, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, Wipro, Aloha, Godrej, and Boyce. These esteemed companies recruited students as system engineers and project engineers, offering salaries ranging from 5 LPA to 10 LPA.
Infrastructure: The Andheri campus of the college provides an ideal environment for studying and learning. It features a well-equipped library with a wide range of books for competitive exams such as CAT and GATE. The classrooms are air-conditioned, and there are labs with updated software for Wi-Fi, Linux, and MacBook. Additionally, the campus offers a mess and canteen that provide various food options and maintain high hygiene standards.
Faculty: Most faculty members have a strong background in teaching experience, and their teaching is excellent. They provide insights into the basics and clarify our concepts, while also imparting knowledge about industry requirements. The course syllabus includes projects in all semesters, making it compulsory for students to engage in practical work with precise readings. Semester exams are not overly difficult, with questions coming from all textbooks within the syllabus.
Other: Events are held on a grand scale, and the college provides sports facilities with all the necessary amenities.

It is better place to get knowledge as well as for other activities.
Placements: 40-50% percent get placed through campus. The highest package was 29 LPA and the lowest was 3.5 LPA. Worley, Burns and McDonnell are the top recruiting companies. Our most of the placements are in Design based company. So, one must have technical as well as Software related knowledge and most importantly, speaking skills.
Infrastructure: Our institute has a good quality of teaching as well as non teaching staff. Our college also has well maintained library with Computers and Wi-Fi connection for educational purposes. Our Canteen is good enough and budget friendly. Our college also has Sports known as OLYMPIA.
Faculty: Our most of the teachers are highly qualified and also had great knowledge. Some of teachers also give knowledge about on-going scenario. About semester exams, an average student can score good marks if they regularly attend the lectures.

They have a competent faculty.
Placements: More than 75 percent of the children got placed, with the highest package being 15 LPA and lower packages at 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies included TCS, Amazon, and many others. The top roles offered by my college are in computer science, artificial intelligence, and data science.
Infrastructure: The outside infrastructure is excellent, but the interior could use some improvement. The canteen is good, medical facilities are available, and there is extensive participation in sports. My college provides excellent sports facilities and has the best sports faculty members with the necessary equipment.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers were very helpful; they were highly qualified and knowledgeable. They made students industry-ready, and thanks to them, the semester exams were not too difficult. Because of their teaching, we easily understood each and every topic as they went in-depth.
