It is not usually possible to gain direct admission to most programs at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira College, Rahara since all admissions are merit-based. Applicants are normally required to make applications through the official channels by which they need to fulfill the eligibility criteria and receive a place based on their performance at school or entrance examination, respectively, depending on the course. Most of the under-graduate programs are admission based on 10+2 marks; whereas for post-graduate courses, many of these institutions also have entrance tests. Placements in B.Sc: The placements in RMVCC, Rahara are generally rated fairly decent particularly for science graduates looking at further studies. Because the college is quite result-oriented with academic perfection as its core goal, most of the students tend to drift to postgraduate studies or researches instead of direct placements. However, a tremendous effort by the placement cell towards extending internship opportunities, career guidance and placement in jobs is available. The campus also welcomes frequent visits from companies linked with the education, IT sectors, and research institutes, where some of the students have been placed in respectable organizations, though the aggregate percentage pertaining to B.Sc students in each department might vary.
