Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Can I get into Ramjas College without CUET?

A:

No, Ramjas College admission to all the courses, i.e., undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, is entrance-based. While this DU-affiliated college accepts CUET UG exam for admission to its undergraduate courses, such as BSc, BA and BCom admission to all the postgraduate courses is subject to the CUET- PG exam starting admission 2023. Ramjas College along with DU started accepting CUET UG starting 2022 and the CUET PG from 2023 session onward. Before this, admission to undergraduate was based on merit in Class 12 and PG admission was mostly subject to DUET exam previously conducted by DU.

Q:   Is Ramjas College good for Certificate?

A:
{Source: Certificate students & alumni}

Based on the feedback provided by students and alumni, here's what we found:

* Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure, with large classrooms, a big ground, a canteen, a library, and a medical room. However, the Wi-Fi facility is limited.
* Teaching: Teachers are helpful and supportive, with good teaching skills and qualifications. They use different techniques to engage students and communicate effectively.
* Course Curriculum: The curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the industry. It covers the basics of Japanese, including Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji.
* Placements: While there may be limitations for Diploma holders, around 55-60% of students get placed, and the highest salary package offered is INR4.5 LPA.
* Certificate Course: As a certificate course, no package is offered, and students need to further study and obtain a Diploma for job prospects. However, students can pursue careers in French translation companies, guiding services, or teaching.

Overall, while Ramjas College has its strengths and weaknesses, it appears to be a decent option for those pursuing a certificate course in French. However, students must be aware of the limitations and plan accordingly for their career goals.

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Based on student and alumnus feedback, here's a summary:

Pros:

* Good infrastructure, including Wi-Fi enabled campus, well-equipped labs, and modern classrooms.
* Knowledgeable and helpful faculty, with many being experts in their fields.
* Curriculum relevance to future studies and research opportunities.
* Affordable fees, making it a viable option for many students.
* Vibrant campus culture with events, festivals, and sports facilities.

Cons:

* Limited hostel facilities, leading to a shortage of accommodation for students.
* Placements vary across courses, with few students securing direct placements in their field of study.
* Intermittent internet connectivity issues.
* Some faculty members' lack of engagement and unhelpfulness.
* Limited scholarship opportunities.
* Unclear and unrealistic expectations regarding career prospects.

Placement Situation:

* Placement rates vary across courses, with few students securing direct placements in their field of study.
* Internships are available, but mostly unrelated to the course.
* Average packages are relatively low, ranging from INR2-INR7 Lacs per annum.
* Few companies recruit directly from the college, with most opting for higher education.

Overall:

While Ramjas College has its strengths, particularly in terms of infrastructure and faculty expertise, the placement situation is a concern. Students considering admission should weigh these factors carefully and consider alternative options. Despite limitations, Ramjas remains a decent choice for those seeking a well-rounded education and looking to pursue higher studies.

Really good infrastructure .
Placements: Average placement is 5.6 LPA. The highest placement is 21.5 LPA. The total number of recruiters was 65. Course-wise enrollment is: commerce: 14.2%, arts: 46.3%, and science: 39.5%. Past recruiters are Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, Wipro, Byju's, Accenture, TopHire, Yamaha, DE Shaw & Co., etc. For internships, the average stipend is 32k, and the highest stipend is 50k. Internship recruiters are Oyo, Airtel, Zomato, Cashkaro.com, Admit Card, Urban Company, and many more. During the COVID period, the top recruiter was DE Shaw & Co.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Ramjas is really impressive. The campus is very beautiful. It has modern classes, a fully air-conditioned library, an auditorium, and computer labs. The library offers a collection of digital books too; computers are also available in the library. Additionally, the college has various other facilities such as a big ground, a sports complex including chess, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, archery, a gym, etc.
Faculty: Some faculty members are really supportive, while some don't care. A few teachers just read from the book and translate it into Hindi. Their way of teaching is not very good, but some teachers are amazing, and I loved their way of teaching a lot. They also share some real-life experiences, giving practical examples.
Other: The campus crowd is not very good. The fests are amazing. There are many societies where students can find their interest and realize their true potential. Some of the top societies are Enactus, the Debating Society, Focus (for photography), the Dance Society, and the Ramjas Consulting Society. Others are Startup Edge, Synergy, the Economics Society, the Commerce Society, and many more.

Ramjas: A Bunch of Memories for You to Experience.
Placements: The placements in Ramjas College are very good, but you have to work hard to upgrade your skills to secure the best possible placement. The highest placement this year was around 25 lakh per annum, and the average goes up to 7 lakhs. Companies that visit the college include Deloitte, EY, PWC, Flipkart, Amazon, and many more.
Infrastructure: The hostel infrastructure is not great as there are no ACs in any hostel rooms, except for the common room. However, the hostel is very nice as you can enjoy delicious food, and there are no issues when it comes to security.
Faculty: The teachers are very knowledgeable and helpful; you just need to maintain good connections with them. The class CR helps to liaise between the students and teachers. The teaching quality is very good, except for a few teachers, and you'll find strict teachers as well on campus.
Other: I chose this course because it has the best placement opportunities, and I am from a commerce background.

The good and the shady parts of this college.
Placements: The highest package is around 23 LPA; the average is around 8 LPA. Most placements are in the field of commerce, with the top roles being consulting, finance and accounting. Internship opportunities are many. Have decent scores with good co-curriculum to bag the top positions.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure, when compared to other DU colleges, is lacking. With poor canteen space, average washrooms, average classrooms and non-existent Wi-Fi,. Squirrels and the greenery are saving some face at our college. There are no indoor badminton facilities.
Faculty: The faculty is not very strict, and we get good attendance from our teachers. The exams aren't tough. One or two nights before exams should suffice. The cruel thing happening to B.Com. programme people is that they are forced to study language in their general electives.

Beautiful campus with good faculty and placements.
Placements: I am pursuing Bachelor of Commerce and in my course, the placement Statistics are as follows: The highest package is 21 LPA. The average package is 7.4 LPA. The lowest package is 5.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies include EY, PWC, Morgan Stanley, Wipro, KPMG, Walmart, Accenture, Mother Dairy, Deloitte USI, etc. The top roles offered in my course are research analyst, consultant, data analyst, finance roles, marketing and sales roles, etc.
Infrastructure: We have large classrooms with all the modern facilities and ventilation. The third floor of our college is where most of the classes in the Commerce Department are conducted. We also have computer labs for practical application of various concepts and subjects. The library is equipped with all the necessary books and is good for sitting and studying. The food provided in the canteen is of good quality, of decent variety and at very affordable prices. One can find many students in the canteen during breaks. There is an indoor gym, volleyball court, badminton court, table tennis, many lawns and two large playgrounds for fitness and sports enthusiasts.
Faculty: The teachers are very knowledgeable and experienced. They are very qualified and they have also written their own books about the subjects they teach. Teaching methodology is great as it is understandable, practical and inclusive. We have interactive classes. We learn through class teaching, assignments, presentations, doubt solving, tests, practical exams, etc. So that we are well prepared for the final exams. The course curriculum is very relevant, except for some extra subjects that include language or don't have many options to choose from. The course curriculum, coupled with the workshops, speaker sessions, internships and practical application, makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams are of a moderately difficult level. The pass percentage is quite satisfying.
Other: I chose this course due to my inclined interest in accounts and finance. I aspire to become a CA so B.Com. is a great combination with that too. Apart from this, placement opportunities are higher in commerce courses. I wish the subject options offered in Ability Enhancement Courses and Value Addition Courses were better and more relevant to the course curriculum. Some or other events are always taking place at the college and even on campus. As it is a north campus college, the entire campus is filled with brilliant minds, and some or other events or festivals can always be found. DU is famous for its smart and intelligent crowd and that holds true even in my college. Various scholarships are also available and one can apply for them from the college website or the DU website after taking admission.
