Review of Ramjas College, University of Delhi.
Placements: No one got placed. Most of them applied for a diploma in Japanese. It was online, but learning the language is important so that you can get placements. Learning Japanse would be the best from Delhi University's north campus.
Infrastructure: The hostel was not given to certificate course, but the infrastructure is very good. I like everything, but I missed most of the things because of covid. I am glad that I took part, which was fun, and I learned a lot of things. Applying to Japan would be great.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful in taking tests which I guess is good. Rajni mam is very good and polite and sometimes strict too. Students get to know the basics of Japanese, which is the first step towards the Japanese language. I also suggest to learn Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. It will be a bit difficult, but if you make your mind, it will be easy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Can I get into Ramjas College without CUET?

A:

No, Ramjas College admission to all the courses, i.e., undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, is entrance-based. While this DU-affiliated college accepts CUET UG exam for admission to its undergraduate courses, such as BSc, BA and BCom admission to all the postgraduate courses is subject to the CUET- PG exam starting admission 2023. Ramjas College along with DU started accepting CUET UG starting 2022 and the CUET PG from 2023 session onward. Before this, admission to undergraduate was based on merit in Class 12 and PG admission was mostly subject to DUET exam previously conducted by DU.

Q:   Is Ramjas College good for Certificate?

A:
{Source: Certificate students & alumni}

Based on the feedback provided by students and alumni, here's what we found:

* Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure, with large classrooms, a big ground, a canteen, a library, and a medical room. However, the Wi-Fi facility is limited.
* Teaching: Teachers are helpful and supportive, with good teaching skills and qualifications. They use different techniques to engage students and communicate effectively.
* Course Curriculum: The curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the industry. It covers the basics of Japanese, including Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji.
* Placements: While there may be limitations for Diploma holders, around 55-60% of students get placed, and the highest salary package offered is INR4.5 LPA.
* Certificate Course: As a certificate course, no package is offered, and students need to further study and obtain a Diploma for job prospects. However, students can pursue careers in French translation companies, guiding services, or teaching.

Overall, while Ramjas College has its strengths and weaknesses, it appears to be a decent option for those pursuing a certificate course in French. However, students must be aware of the limitations and plan accordingly for their career goals.

Based on student and alumnus feedback, here's a summary:

Pros:

* Good infrastructure, including Wi-Fi enabled campus, well-equipped labs, and modern classrooms.
* Knowledgeable and helpful faculty, with many being experts in their fields.
* Curriculum relevance to future studies and research opportunities.
* Affordable fees, making it a viable option for many students.
* Vibrant campus culture with events, festivals, and sports facilities.

Cons:

* Limited hostel facilities, leading to a shortage of accommodation for students.
* Placements vary across courses, with few students securing direct placements in their field of study.
* Intermittent internet connectivity issues.
* Some faculty members' lack of engagement and unhelpfulness.
* Limited scholarship opportunities.
* Unclear and unrealistic expectations regarding career prospects.

Placement Situation:

* Placement rates vary across courses, with few students securing direct placements in their field of study.
* Internships are available, but mostly unrelated to the course.
* Average packages are relatively low, ranging from INR2-INR7 Lacs per annum.
* Few companies recruit directly from the college, with most opting for higher education.

Overall:

While Ramjas College has its strengths, particularly in terms of infrastructure and faculty expertise, the placement situation is a concern.
