Rao Bahadur Y Mahabaleswarappa Engineering College (RYMEC) appointment is based on certain admission conditions. Candidates should have passed 10+2 for all UG courses with a minimum of 45 % marks for Gen and 40% for SC/ST jointly with Physics Maths and Chemistry or Biology or Computer Science. The scores in the KCET/COMEDK/JEE Main are taken into account. For admission in PG courses, 50% marks for general and 45 % marks for SC/ST in any faculty of Bachelor Degree is compulsory. In CEG KAP, GATE / PGCET scores are taken into account. Another factor under this criteria includes document clearance, and consent to participate in the study. Reservation: 150 of them 50% for Karnataka students, 25% for Hyderabad-Karnataka region and 25% for management quota.

The cutoff ranks for 2023 admission for KCET ranged from 10,430 in Computer Science, General category to 44,180 in Civil Engineering for SC/ST category. COMEDK UGET cutoff ranks extended from 7,411 (Computer Science, General) to 23,439 (Mechanical Engineering SC/ST). Specifically, cutoff ranks are: KCET – Mechanical 17440, Electrical 20150, Civil 22450; COMEDK – Mechanical 12319, Computer Science - SC/ST 14819. This can be in terms of scores where some cutoffs may be changed every year; one should check at the official website of the school.

To get eligibility in admission to Rao Bahadur Y Mahabaleswarappa Engineering College (RYMEC) for B.E./B.Tech, one must have passed 10+2 with physics, math's, and third subject being either chemistry/biology/computer science, having a minimum of 45% marks or above but 40% for the candidates belonging to reserved categories. The same is provided through entrance exams, that is, Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) for state quota and COMEDK UGET for management quota. No entrance exam is required. This application fee is Five Thousand Indian Rupees (INR).
