{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}Is B.E. / B.Tech at Regional Institute of Science and Technology (RIST) worth the investment? Based on student reviews and feedback, here's a summary:* Placements: Unfortunately, none of the civil engineering students have been placed despite efforts to secure internships. Other departments, such as computer and mechanical, have better placement records.* Faculty: Teachers are generally helpful, but some are not updated on recent technologies, affecting their knowledgeability.* Infrastructure: Classrooms, laboratories, and hostel facilities are good, although the library needs improvement. Food quality varies.* Curriculum: Relevant, but not entirely industry-ready.* Internships: While not paid, students have secured internships in government organizations and private companies.* Overall experience: Despite challenges, students appreciate the peaceful hostel environment, organized events, and availability of scholarships.Considering these points, investing in a B.E./B.Tech at RIST may not yield significant benefits for civil engineering students due to poor placement rates. However, the institution's faculty, infrastructure, and overall atmosphere might still offer a decent learning experience. Prospective students should weigh these factors carefully before making a decision. Here are some specific takeaways for different aspects of RIST:* Academics: Focus on improving the curriculum to make students more industry-ready.* Placement cell: Strengthen relationships with local companies and explore alternative internship options.* Infrastructure: Upgrade laboratory equipment and invest in modern amenities.* Faculty development: Ensure teachers stay updated on recent technologies to enhance their teaching effectiveness.* Student life: Continue organizing events and festivals to foster a positive atmosphere.* Scholarship opportunities: Expand and promote scholarship programs to support deserving students.* Industry connections: Foster stronger ties with local industries to facilitate internships and potential employment.
