Aspirants must have secured minimum 50% marks in mandatory subjects (45% marks for candidates belongs to backward class categories and persons with disability of Maharashtra state).
Candidates also need to comply with the eligibility criteria stated by DTE.

Place of passing of Qualifying Examination falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.
Type B
A Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possess Domicile Certificate.
Place of Domicile Certificate issuing authority falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.
Type C
A Candidate who does not fall in either TypeA or Type-B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP.
Place of posting of Father or Mother of Candidate falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.
Type D
A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.
Place of posting of Father or Mother of Candidate or the place of settlement of the Father or Mother if retired or the place of the last posting if deputed outside Maharashtra falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.
Type E

When one considers it, both fields design, develop, and test tools that make our lives and work easier one just happens to do it in the digital realm and the other in the physical one. From their mathematical and scientific roots to the tools that make their work possible, mechanical engineers and computer scientists share a lot of common ground, even if their specializations diverge. For example, mechanical engineers may find themselves researching nanotechnology, robotics, vehicle systems, energy usage and sustainability, and thermodynamics. There is lateral entry for B.Tech civil engineering in Sardar Patel College of Engineering, but it is a full time course for 3 years. It's is not a part time course.
The total fees for 3 years is INR 2.21 lakhs.

Or,
Candidate must have completed B.Sc. from UGC/ Association of Indian Universities recognized University with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed 10+2 with Mathematics as a subject.
