Doing LLB through distance education is not recognized by Bar council of India. Only a person who has completed his full time LLB is recognized to be eligible to practice law in India.

Distance learning course isn't enough to practice law in India. As per the Bar Council of Indias guidelines, one need to have a law degree to practice law in India. One of the prerequisite to practice in any state is to have a regular course law degree. Law course pursued through a distance learning is only for knowledge sake. Through distance learning, one can understand law, but cannot practice. Such courses are offered for people interested in understanding law. There are many people who are interested in understanding law, so that they are not be fooled by lawyers or advocates. Whereas, some people do it for their own long pending litigation, so that they can understand law and its nuisances. Such courses make citizens more aware about law prevalent India.

Eligibility for admission LL.B: Candidates who have obtained their Bachelor degrees with at least 45% marks in aggregate and who will not attend the age of 30 years by July 1, 2017, will be eligible for seeking admission to three-year LL.B course. Relaxation in marks by 5% for SC and ST candidates.
Eligibility for admission LL.M: Candidates who have obtained their LL.B Degrees with at least 50% marks in aggregate will be eligible for seeking admission to two-year LL.M course. Relaxation in marks by 5% for SC and ST candidates.
Confirmation of such admissions will be subject to the candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria within the time to be specified by the college authority.
