For SET (State Eligibility Test) and other eligibility exams for lectureship, there is no requirement that the graduation honors subject and master's degree subject should be the same. However, there are certain eligibility criteria that need to be fulfilled, and these may vary depending on the specific exam and the university or institution that conducts it. For example, to be eligible for the SET exam, the candidate must have a master's degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks. There is no requirement that the subject of the master's degree should be the same as the subject of the graduation honors degree. However, it is important to note that having a master's degree in a relevant subject can increase the chances of qualifying the SET or other eligibility exams for lectureship, as it demonstrates advanced knowledge and expertise in the subject.
