SIES is a unique institute. Its unique because it doesn't market itself like others do and is traditionally deeply rooted (It has a huge temple right inside the campus). Trust is so filthy rich that money is never a consideration for them to run this institute.
Now coming to specific points:-
1. Its a very old institute hence has a early mover advantage
2. Faculty is quite experienced and every Saturday you have corporate interactive session where people from different industries comes and delivery lectures for students.
3. There are some very loyal companies visiting the campus year after year, so placement for marketing is best.Highest package is Rs 14-15 lakhs and average package is Rs 6-7 lakhs.
4. Studies are always on priority rather than "glamour" as seen in other institutes.
5. Best part of SIES is batch size for both PGDM and MMS is 120. So small batch size lead to greater opportunities in placement and every faculty is able to concentrate on each students.
6. Marketing department of SIESCOMS is considered to best in terms of both education and practical knowledge.
In management colleges you learn more on your own and from peers rather than from college. College only provides the means and direction.
I was lucky to have excellent and diverse batch mates from whom I learned alot. I learned more in these 2 years in SIES as compared to my previous years of studies.
So, if you want to do MBA in Mumbai and don't get admission in Top 3 colleges (JBIMS, Sydneham and Somaiya) this is the best bet. All the best.

The college does not provide accommodation to any students. However the institute takes special care to ensure all students are helped to get students' accommodation in close proximity.
