It depends whether you are coming through ComedK or KCET.
For ComedK students, it's somewhere 2 lakhs.
For KCET, it is 50K.

But in order to claim the govt. Seat quota, you need to write one Kannada exam only if you are from the nearby area of Karnataka
As you are from Delhi, you need not write Kannada exam and the cut-off for mechanical engineering in MVIT is 1500-2000 and every year 30-35K students appear for the examination.
Also, I want to clear this thing as I am also doing mechanical engineering for MVIT, it's really hard to understand the language so you will face some problem with the teacher in starting.
So, I suggest you to kindly try to learn Kannada before coming to Karnataka.

If you're asking about the placements for computer science at Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, you've made several right choices already. There are a lot of companies which come for computer science students since Bangalore itself has a lot of IT companies. There is a wide range of salary packages, here, on behalf of the companies that come. They range from 2.4 Lacs per annum (Accenture, IBM) to 21 Lacs per annum (Unitech Transfer). Last year, 85% students were placed. There is no end to the companies which come to the campus for recruitment, and they keep coming from the second week of August till the last week of November, and then from the first week of February till the last week of July. All of this can be attributed to the fact that our placement officer has been really helpful, and he keeps getting us a lot of companies each year.
As long as you maintain the equivalent of 60% and above, you'll definitely get a job without too much hassle, if you're a computer science student here. Do let us know if there's anything more you need. All the best!

Since you're looking for civil engineering, and placements are the priority, I'd suggest you to look for other colleges. As far as civil engineering is concerned, they are one of the least preferred departments when it comes to campus placements. This year, there are only two out of the fourteen companies which have come so far, which are asking for civil engineering students. Though their curriculum is easier than the other branches, the department of civil engineering lags behind in terms of placements, even when mass recruiters such as Tata Consultancy Services, Accenture and Wipro Technologies are concerned. Core companies do not come for recruitment here, and even Larsen Tourbo, a major construction firm, sends its IT division - L&T Infotech, for civil engineering students. Therefore, you can see that there are very few companies who come for recruiting civil engineering students, and the placement scenario here is good only for computer science, information science, electronics and communication engineering and telecommunication engineering. Do let us know if there's anything else we can help you with. All the best!

It depends on what your CET or ComedK rank is, not entirely on your board marks. There is a weightage given to your board marks only in CET not ComedK.
