SMIT - once great, now gone.
Placements: When I joined the college as a fresher, I was astonished seeing the campus placement. Almost 85% were placed in renowned companies. But it started decreasing, and in my final year, when it was time for our placement, I almost had no hope. Though I was selected in TCS in campus drive, but only 15% were selected. And it was the only mass recruitment. Allover we had around 30% placement and in later years it has gone downward more.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is OKish. Labs are all equipped but can be more better. Computer labs has possibilities of improvement also. The mechanical workshops are the only which are well-equipped and better than the rest. Library is not good. Canteen food is what you can expect from a usual Indian college canteen.
Faculty: Most of the teachers were knowledgeable and experienced. They were very helpful too. Bad thing is that recently most of them have resigned due to circumstances. We did not have smart classroom. Student to faculty ratio would be 1:25, but I am afraid in recent times, it must be much more higher. We were provided industry exposure, but there were more better opertunities outside than the college provided.
Other: Cultural fest is Kinda okay, not something you can talk to your friends about. Technical fest is kinda better and participation is much more high. Campus is in a village, so better not expect any city like facilities or life.

Overall this college is average. Faculty is not at all good, but the placements is not bad.
Placements: In my bath, 230 out of 380 were placed. In my seniors batch, 210 to 220 out of 380 were placed. In my junior batch, the placements are also very low as I heard. This college is a part of the Techno India Group, so they always bring good companies to the main campus, and give a chance to every student to get a job. Every year, more than 50 company visit the college, and it's up to the student to how he or she will crack the interview and get a job. College also gives equal chances to everyone. One other thing to mention is that a very few company visits the college campus, rather Techno India Group organises a pool campus for every college under this group.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college was not that great. This college also has a Wi-Fi, but the speed is not that good. Computer labs have very old computers while the other labs have basic things. It also has a good football ground, where students play football and cricket. We also have a table tennis court, badminton court and recently one gym has opened up. The medical facilities are also very poor with no campus doctor, but have one ambulance.
Faculty: The faculty was not at all good, but I will say it is very bad. Many faculty do not know about the subject, but yet they are teaching. Also, some of them are knowledgeable in their subjects. The student-teacher ratio is 60:1. I also didn't get any industrial exposure from the faculty. What I have learnt in the college is not from the faculty, but from the internet, books and from one teacher outside the college.
Other: Two fests happen here which are the tech-fests, and the annual fests. The campus was also good crowded. This college campus is in a village which is connected through the rail and roads which is 2 hours from Kolkata.
