A total of six M.Tech courses are offered at SoET, Pandit Deendayal Energy University, i.e., Petroleum, Electrical, Nuclear Science & Technology, Energy Systems, Chemical Engineering and Energy and Environment Management.The admission process is conducted in two phases. SoET PDEU admission to M.Tech course is based on GATE score. Candidates who have not qualified GATE are shortlisted based on their performance in the personal interview round. Phase-I of the admission is for GATE qualified candidates. Non-GATE-qualified candidates can participate in Phase-II of the admission. The university prepares a merit list for GATE qualified and non-GATE qualified candidates based on performance in personal interview round and GATE score. Once selected, candidates need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.

There are a total of 1,260 seats for BTech at SoET PDEU. Out of the total intake, 33% seats are offered through ACPC Counselling and 67% through All India Quota.
