SPM wasn't taking XAT scores till last year. It has started accepting XAT from this year itself hence it is difficult to predict the same. But as per the information received , it might be at par with CAT only which is around 65-70 percentile.

Last year's cut off for CAT was around 65-70. So with that base and same dynamics, you definitely stand a chance to get a call from SPM. Getting Admission here will depend upon your aggregate GDPI + CAT score.

Dear Rajat,
SPM offers two MBA programs. 1) MBA in Energy and Infra 2) MBA in General Management. Now coming to MBA in EnI will cover oil and gas related program mainly. Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University with which SPM is associated is renowned name for this sector. Teaching pedagogy followed is case study based, as well as we have trimister system just like IIMs. SPM PDPU being a right choice will more or less depend upon your priortization of criterias. Placements here is an average of 6.25 lpa.

MBA in General Management is a 3 year old degree offered by SPM, PDPU. Since the college is new the placement is at average 5 lakhs with companies like Wipro, ICICI Bank, ICICI Prudentials and a few of energy companies offering general profiles. The core faculty of Energy and General MBA remains same as well as their teaching methods. IIM pedagogy is followed for teaching in General Management as well. And all the functions like industrial Visits as well as placements are given equal importance for both the courses.

First of all, SPM provides two programs 1) MBA in Energy and Infrastructure 2) MBA in General Managememt. General Management program works like the normal other BSchools only and thus you might already be aware of the job opportunities there. Now, talking about Energy and Infrastructure - India is a developing nation as well as energy deficit nation. So energy demand is growing and resources are scarcely available in India. Thus we import most of our energy fuels. Now, with crude oil getting cheaper day by day and with governement investing in Make in India initiatives Thus, importing nation like India will benefit thus leading to more job opportunities as well as more needs. Moreover, this is one of the evergreen sectors to be in as energy is essential to living. The average salary is 6.2lpa.
