Undergraduate programme admissions, especially in well-known fields like computer science, electronics and mechanical engineering, are frequently determined by a candidates performance on national exams like JEE (for some seats) or the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling process which takes into account grades from the 12th grade. For those candidates with 10+2 min, it will be as follows: a minimum percentage of 45% math, physics, and chemistry for the general category, and 40% in reserved categories. Admissions are strictly done based on merit through the TNEA process. Generally, common cut-off marks are always high. Although the basic eligibility is achievable, getting a seat can prove difficult because of limited availability and demand for popular branches. With overall preparation, admission is achievable for motivated students.
