Absolutely dissatisfied because of Placements.
Placements: Approximately 30% were placed in campus in core companies. The highest is 8 lakh per annum. The lowest 4 lakh per annum and average is 5 lakh per annum. Hyundai, Royal Enfield, Tafe are the top recruiters. 3% got the internship.
Infrastructure: Excellent lab and infrastructure is very good, smart classroom, library is also excellent, many books are available. Quailty of hostel is somewhat okay, I am day scholar student so don't know about hostel, I used to go by college bus, canteen is pure veg. I am not involved in sports .
Faculty: Teachers are good, qualified and knowledgeable, Quality is standard. Anna university syllabus - outdated one, not relevant to today's technology. Students have to learn more and more not only in college but has to learn from outside also to be industry ready.
Other: Automobile engineering - has testing center in the college.

Infrastructure and facilities are excellent.
Placements: A good number of companies visited our campus at that time. We had the opportunity to appear for the interviews of both core mechanical and IT services companies. It ensured the maximum placement of approximately 90% of the eligible students. Some companies that visited are Hyundai, Royal Enfield, TAFE, SAME Tractors, Mu Sigma, Zoho, Accenture, CTS, Infosys, Wipro, etc.
Infrastructure: The college has excellent state-of-the-art laboratories equivalent to the level of top government institutions. The automobile laboratory is the best. We were allowed to access the facilities at any time. The central library had a required collection of books to supply all students. It helped students to avoid purchasing books outside.
Faculty: The curriculum is very good and a proper mixture of mechanical and automobile subjects with appropriate lab courses aligned with it. Teachers were very helpful and knowledgeable. We also went for few industrial visits and had attended many department coordinated seminars given by industry experts. These events helped us to be industry-ready.
Other: I wish it would be better to have some more core mechanical subjects in the 1st & 2nd-year course curriculum to lay a strong knowledge foundation.

Think twice before choosing the department.
Placements: Almost everyone got placed except 2 or 3. The highest package in our batch is 5.5LPA from LTI even though he's from the automobile department. Very few companies come for core recruitment. Almost everyone can be placed if you're not expecting some particular company and if you work hard for it.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good. Coming to the hostel, You'll get decent rooms if you are from management for the first year. After that, you'll be given old hostel buildings which aren't worth the fee that you're paying. The food quality is average but better than many colleges.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful. The course curriculum is completely changed (In a good way). You'll be having a step forward since the course curriculum involves more about e- vehicles. Most of the non-autonomous colleges won't have the luxury to change the syllabus. One advantage of autonomous college is that they can change syllabus according to the industry needs.

All about Sri venkateswara college of engineering.
Placements: The placements offered are excellent. The college is renowned for its placements. Hyundai, Tafe, and Royal Enfield pick most of the students for the placements. The companies like Ford, Ashok Leyland, and other companies offered a good salary package. Even if you have standing arrears, it is not an issue, the IT companies like Infosys, TCS will pick you for the placements.
Infrastructure: The college has a small campus which has everything. You have all sports and swimming. When it rains, the water gets stagnant which is tough to walk. The lab facilities provided are the best. You have everything that is needed to test and build a vehicle. The quality of food is average, and you have to manage. The hostel rooms are good, and the rules are strict. The food quality and water stagnation during rainy seasons are the only things you have to check before joining the college. Otherwise, the college is fantabulous.
Faculty: Very well-qualified and highly knowledgeable professors and lecturers are available. The faculty members are very kind going, have a friendly nature, and with a lot of content in their brain. Majority of the times, they teach with the smart-class facilities. The student to teacher ratio is 40:1. Industrial visits are provided twice a year. I am completing my course by 2020. My senior students are joyous and happy, so I guess the course is very useful for learning. I am happy to be a student here.
Other: The college is an autonomous institution from the batch of 2017, the problem is that it is situated at 20kms away from Chennai. The reputation of the college is good and the placements are excellent. I guess it is a blessing to stay in SVCE and you will feel the same. All the best.

Other: The college is situated on the NH4 Chennai Bangalore Highway and has been providing education for around 30 years. The main benefactor of the institution is its campus. The campus has been properly planned and built with adequate flora throughout the campus. The atmosphere in the campus cannot be related to an ordinary college atmosphere. The campus also has Wi-Fi facilities available that are accessible for a certain fee. The other main advantage of the institution is the well-advanced lab facilities. Right from the industrial related labs such as marine engineering, chemical engineering to the software labs, all labs are well equipped with the latest available facilities and air-conditioned wherever required. The main recognition for the college comes from its very efficient and enormous amount of placement related activities. All the major tech giants like Accenture, Cognizant to the automobile giants such as TAFE, Hyundai, Ashok Leyland recruit students every year in very large proportions. The sports and other recreational facilities are excellent and the college has a very well maintained playground and swimming pool. There is also a multipurpose auditorium with indoor sports facilities. The cons of the college are many. The food at the canteen is not of a standard quality and is often very bad. The rates at the canteen are also exuberantly high for the quality of the food provided. The canteen caters to only the vegetarian students and does not serve non-vegetarian. The inside of the classroom blocks in the college have bad maintenance and to an extent bring down the visual appeal. The assessment methods are a bit outdated and mostly do not help the students' preparation.

Hello Mr Mahendran, Your son's profile is indeed prolific. In addition admissions in Tamil Nadu are based on only marks of 12th, hence I think with such good academics, your son is bound to get admission in his desired branch and desired college. Best wishes to you.
