You being in top 10 doesn't guarantee you the the best job with the best package. Sometimes, it has been seen that students who have got very high grades could only crack a job with an average salary, while students who had arrears got the higest salary. As I have said, it all boils down to how you perform in the interview day. Grades are just an entry ticket for you to apply for the job, as a few companies demand above 7 CGPA, or a student should have no history of arrears, etc. So, getting good grades doesn't guarantee you a good job. It's how you perform in the interview is all that matters. Have a decent CGPA, and you're good to go. Highest salary this year was 7.5 lacs, offered by Whirlpool. Lowest is 4 lacs, and average 5.6 lacs. Thank you!

See, if you draw a pyramid for students getting placed, the base is occupied by Marketing students. Then comes Finance, and then HR & Operations. Most of the companies coming for placements are Marketing companies, and for Finance, it is a bit less as compared to Marketing. Fiance companies recruit candidates for a Marketing profile too, in their company. For ex: Marketing of Financial products. So, we do have core finance companies coming in, and also finance companies which need Marketing roles. Hope this answers your question.

TSM comprises mostly freshers every year, with hardly a few with Work experience. 70% of the students are from Engineering background and the rest with a Commerce background. Therefore, students placed are mostly freshers. Work experience matters, but only to an extent. All that matters is how you perform in the interviews. Around 10-15 students have been placed in core finance jobs this year. We are expecting more companies in the coming year, so expect the numbers to rise.

No other companies came from abroad except Khimji Ramdas. No particular reason why they didn't come.
