What if my CAT percentile is between 80 and 90? CAT percentile between 80 to 90 can be a tricky situation. While you get optimistic to see yourself placed in the top range of CAT takers, the reality check of not being able to make it to the old IIMs also strikes soon. Since the old IIMs or IIM black is exhaust the shortlist by 98-100 percentile, there is hardly any chance for CAT takers securing 80 to 90 percentile to get a call from old IIMs. Despite performing well in CAT you suddenly realize that you are not good enough for your dream destinations to spend next two years. But rather than losing hope, you should look at the brighter side that there are several top B-schools in the range of 80 to 90 percentile, including the new IIMs. The latest: CAT 2019 result declared on January 4, 2020.

Your chances of getting into UBS is quite high. For general category their cut off goes to 80+ in CAT. Apart from CAT percentile, you must focus on GD and PI part, as this section carries nearly 50% weightage in overall selection process. All the best.

I will highly recommend that it is worth pursing PGPM from this management school. Athena is located in Powai which is the Corporate hub of Mumbai. A combination of classroom and outboard learning helps an individual to develop holistic personality and it is the key area of focus for Athena School of Management. Multiple practical learnings involves Industrial visits, case-study solving, organising dramas; Rotaract Club and many more. They also have guest lectures every week presented by top level executives. One of the unique feature of this school is that it provides multiple Indian and International internships (one internship every semester) which helps in gaining better corporate exposure. Due to small batch size, each and every student is given personal attention.

As a current student in the MBA (HR) batch of 201719, by far my experience with UBS has been amazing. We have a brilliant base of faculty and guest lecturers coming over, with a strong course structure. The class composes of 30+ individuals only to ensure maximum learning. Talking about placements, our senior batches have been placed with good packages (since I'm not well versed with the exact figures, I'd leave it here only). I personally have my summer internship placement with IBM India, with a stipend of Rs. 1.2 Lacs (even more than what constitutes the fee of this institution). Our alumni base of HR specialisation has also been doing great. We hail a good bunch of people forming the alumni board, and some doing wonders in the industry with HR background namely Mr. Harshvendra Soin (Senior VP at TechM) and Mr. D. P. The reason of UBS not shown in rankings is that we do not participate in these rankings as they are all bogus. Now we come on the fees part, so the fees for 2 years MBA course is around Rs 2 Lakhs including hostel fees. Placement percentage for the last year was 97% with the highest package of Rs 15 lakhs. This year report will come later. For the application, firstly, you have to give CAT exam conducted by IIM's every year in the month of November or December. After this, you have to separately apply for the UBS online by visiting our admissions website. If you will get the percentile above our cutoff we will call you for GD & PI.
