Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai, has pioneered India's engineering education and research as it is one of the oldest engineering colleges in Asia. The college offers a full-time undergraduate B.Tech. in nine specializations.
Admissions to VJTI, Mumbai are strictly based on merit only through on-line centralised admission process.
For admission to B.Tech. in Computer Engineering (Lateral Entry), the eligibility criteria are:
A diploma course in engineering and technology in a relevant stream must be completed with a minimum of 45% marks from an All India Council for Technical Education-approved institution or its equivalent.
Or the candidate must have completed a B.Sc. with at least 45% marks from a UGC-recognized university and passed 10+2 with mathematics as a subject.
Candidates must register for the centralized admission process of the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra, by visiting the official website of MHT-CET and filling in the required information.
An admit card will be issued to all the eligible candidates with all the details about the entrance test.
After the CET, VJTI will issue a merit list for all the courses, which is published on the official website of the college under the Admission Portal.
Students whose marks are on the merit list can visit the college with all their documents for further admission processing.
The merit list, consisting of the names and aggregate percentage of successful candidates in different categories, is yet to be published.

The institute-specific qualifying cutoff is announced after the declaration of MHT CET results for the seat allotment process, which is based on the college cutoff and the candidate's preference for courses. The cutoffs are generally declared in two rounds of counselling based on closing ranks for each specialisation. The cutoffs are released for home state and other state candidates, which are further divided into GOPENS, LOPENS, MI, and TFWS categories. The cutoff for computer Science engineering (CSE) is usually higher than other branches and based on past two-year trends:
Closing rank: -105 in 2021
Closing rank: -91 in 2020
The expected cutoff for the general category can be anywhere between 90-105 or maybe even be less like 2018 when the closing rank was 82 (score-181). Also, the category and subcategory of the candidate will be considered for the admission process.

Good day, Aditya Yogesh Gadage. In the state of Maharashtra, VJTI is the most prestigious institution for engineering studies. Due to this, closing rankings are typically very high across the board, particularly for computer science engineering. Last year, this branch's closure rank was in the neighbourhood of 2000. Throughout spite of this, students can always choose to study CSE at VJTI because the admissions process is centralised in the state of Maharashtra. After some rounds of the admissions process are complete, the centralised agency notifies cutoffs so that students don't unnecessarily choose a stream and college where they have little possibility of getting admitted.
I wish you well.

Hello Priya, presently govt of Maharashtra is slated to conduct entrance exam called MHTCET in the month of August. Then they will conduct centralised counseling. Then only this institution will announce its cutoffs. Knowing cutoffs of previous years is if no use since actual opening and closing ranks of students who got admission is available on the college website. Suffice it to say that it's reputation is next best to IIT Mumbai. As a result the closing ranks are really High. One needs to study well and should try to be in top 10 percentile of MHTCET to have a meaningful shot at admission in this institution. But always remember, there is nothing impossible. If you study well, you will score well and this in turn will get you admission in your desired institute.
Best wishes to you.
Best wishes to you.
