On 10th percentage basis you will be able to get admission in first year diploma in many branch but you not able to get admission in mechanical engineering and civil engineering. As per your 12th percentage which is 54 you have to be lucky enough or else you can wait till last CAP round or counselling round.

Yes you are eligible for VJTI for B.Tech lateral admission. Because the number of seats for B.Tech lateral are very limited so cutoff can goes higher above 85%. So chances of admission can be moderate here.

In addition, VJTI is one of the premier most institute in the state of Maharashtra and one needs to be in top 10 of the percentile bracket to get admission in this institute in your particular category.
