Great campus life, sports and extracurriculars, but the placements are a bit off.
Placements: Placements are not really the attraction of this college, especially for the IT branches. Last year, the average placement packages for branches like CSE and ECE revolved around 14-15 LPA (which is much higher in the other tier-1 NITs). For core branches like chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, etc. the average is around 8-9 LPA. Placements percentage is 75-80%.
Infrastructure: VNIT’s infrastructure is quite impressive. It's spread across 215 acres of lush green land. For the 1st year, we have our classes in CRC (classrooms complex). Sports facilities are one of the best here. There is a health centre also for VNIT students which is free of cost and there is a canteen as well. The hostel I'd say is not too bad, it’s kind of okay. We have a night canteen in the campus. One thing I hate about the hostel is the in-time restitution which is 8 pm for 1st year boys and 9 pm for 1st year girls. The Labs are great and are equipped with almost every instrument used for studying. The mess is not good it's average, sometimes the food is below average. We have a really big library with every course book and other books being available. It’s the best place to study. VNIT also has it's own swimming pool which is really good and is properly maintained.
Faculty: The professors are strict here with regard to the attendance and exams. Overall, the curriculum at VNIT is strict. As our college has a lot of clubs (31 in total) like axis, e-cell, ivlabs, etc. it helps the students grow their soft skills and become industry ready.
Other: Overall, the college is great. Only thing lagging is their placements record, they should work upon it to improve. Extracurricular activities are excellent here. The college provides you great opportunities through different events. Alumni network is also great. A lot of things in our college are donated by the alumni association like the swimming pool. There is a big sports complex. Fests and events are very common and exciting. Nagpur city is also great. I chose chemical engineering because I like chemistry.

Review of Chemical Engineering at VNIT Nagpur.
Placements: 60% of students were placed, as 40% had backlogs or some didn't sit for placements. 19 lacs was the highest package, the lowest was 3 lacs, and the average was 8 lacs; the median was 9.75 lacs. BPCL Infosys, Wipro, ITC, Johnson, and more are the top recruiters. Many of them get internships at ITC, Johnson & Goldman Sachs at 50000 Rs. per month for summer interns in cash. I have no idea about the top roles.
Infrastructure: We have labs but some labs have very old machines so they are operative. We have Wi-Fi in our department. We have big classrooms and strength of over 100+ students admitted each year in chemical engineering. We have double and single occupancy rooms with beds, cupboard, chair, table, and LAN connection for internet. Laptops are allowed. Mess quality is good this semester but overall it is average. Canteen food is like mess only. We have canteens in hostel areas as well. We have night canteen for students. Medical fees of 4000 are taken once at the start of the degree, and treatment and some basic medicine are provided free of charge at the health centre of VNIT. Sports grounds and complexes have cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, handball grounds, a lawn tennis court, a badminton court, table tennis, and indoor games, along with a yoga area. Hostel areas of boys and girls have their own well-equipped gym. Sports period for 2 hours per week is compulsory for first year.
Faculty: Teachers are very humble and helpful; every teacher at our department has a Ph.D. degree. Teaching quality is very good. 2 faculty from our department are among the 1% of scientists in the world. One out of 2 is our previous HOD, Dr. Sachin Mandavgane. He recently, on September 5, 2024, received an award for Nation Builders. The course curriculum is relevant and applicable to the real world. Good for study as well as research purposes. Must study chemical engineering. You will learn new things. 80% is a pass percentage. We have two exams, one midterm and the other endterm. Minds are easy, but ends are tough to moderate level. VNIT is a good college overall.
Other: I chose this course as it is applicable to real world and in every domain of life and different industries. Chemical engineering has vast applications. No improvement is required; just need improvement in labs. Machines are operative in some labs. Overall, the curriculum is effective. Good connectivity with city as it Is just 6 km from airport and railway station. Everything Is accessible. campus is quite peaceful and green. We host events and fests throughout the year. Student aid and other scholarships are available for different students. We have 21 clubs. Prayaas for social work, Cell for startups, Octave for music lovers, and more are there.

It is really a bad decision to take admission here. Faculty are the worst, not cooperative.
Placements: My batch is not passed out yet. Once it is done, I will update soon. But previous batch. Placement was not satisfactory. It's really hard to score an 8 CGPA. The highest package was around 27 Lacs, and the percentage of placed students is really very low. Thank you.
Infrastructure: There are many facilities like LAN, library, smart classroom, laboratories, and many more. Our hostel is luxurious; we have been provided a 24-hour LAN. Water facility and cleanliness. The quality of food available in the mess is really bad. It is not tasty at all. It contains a lot of oil and vegetables with low prices.
Faculty: Faculty is really the worst. They don't teach well. They just complete their given period and take their salary. Its really shameful. Semester exams are very difficult and don't score at all. This college doesn't help students for industrial purposes. There is damaged equipment in labs. And no one gives information about our practical.
Other: The best things about this course is that it has Many fields. Teaching can be improved, but they don't try at all. There are various types of events happening. Ganpati, Holi, Navratri, institute gathering, department gathering, inter-not competition, etc. are organized.

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, Nagpur; Reviewed.
Placements: Placements in our college are pretty good, with around 70 to 80% of students from our branch, Chemical Engineering, getting placed every year. In the year 2023, due to the recession period, placements and internships were affected in our college. The highest package in 2023 was 34 LPA, while the lowest package was around 4 to 5 LPA, and the average package was 9 LPA. ITC hired around 5 to 6 students with a package of around 12 LPA. Other companies like HPCL, BPCL, ExxonMobil, Fractal Analytics, etc., also visited our branch with an average package of 13 to 14 LPA. Generally, core companies come to our college. For internships, it is generally hard to get one as Chemical Engineering is a lower branch; you need to have a good CGPA to secure an internship. Trying for off-campus internships is preferred.
Infrastructure: Our college campus is really big, around 300 acres, which includes the Classroom Complex, Library, Playground, Basketball Court, etc. Wi-Fi is available in each classroom of our Chemical Engineering department. They even provide LAN in each hostel room. There are ten hostels for boys and 2 to 3 hostels for girls. The curfew time for first-year boys is 8 PM, and for first-year girls, it is 9 PM. There is no curfew for boys in other years, and the curfew for girls is 10:30 PM. The college curfew is 10:30 PM; the gate closes after that time. Mess food for boys is average; sometimes it is better, sometimes it's below average. The department buildings are a bit old, which causes problems, as the machines in the labs don't work and the fans don't work properly, causing a lot of problems during the summer.
Faculty: Professors are well-qualified and knowledgeable; teaching quality is also good. Professors are busy with classes all the time, so it gets difficult for them to help students. In class, they address doubts and queries and even during their free time. Some professors also help students with internships and placement-related matters and assist with job searches during summer vacation. There are two terms: summer and winter. Semesters take place in these two terms. We also have summer terms to clear backlogs and semesters that are dropped due to personal reasons. For Chemical Engineering, semester exams are moderate. We have tough subjects like Chemical Reaction Engineering and Thermodynamics. Although previous years' questions (PYQs) get repeated every year, this is not always the case, as it depends on who the professor is. The course is really relevant and helps us in securing jobs in core industries.
Other: Campus life is really fun, as events take place every now and then. Central India's largest cultural fest, AAROHI, and tech fest, AXIS, occur every year. Other fests like CONSURTIUM by Cell also take place, which is really fun. There is a fest called Institute Gathering where all departments participate every year, which is one of our huge prides. It takes place over 10 days, and students from different departments participate in various sports, indoor games, and more. We also have Department Gathering (DG), which is also fun. Located 7 km from the airport and around 8 km from the station, our college has great connectivity. Students from different states come to VNIT, so it is great to meet new people.

The college is more academic-oriented than extracurricular activities.
Placements: From the past two to three years of recession, the placements everywhere decreased gradually but since this year, the placements at VNIT Nagpur College are slightly getting better and better as compared to past years. The placement percentage of students is, however, less but the average package is good.
Infrastructure: For the sports, I will give all the ratings to VNIT Nagpur as it has the best sports facilities among many NITs but for the other infrastructure, it is slightly worse, as classrooms do not contain ACs. Mess is not good at all. Mainly for boys hostels due to not maintaining proper hygiene. The medical facility has good ambulances available for 24 hours.
Faculty: Honestly speaking, this college has a little old curriculum and it is a bit hectic for student's lives. Teachers are highly qualified and their teaching quality is like average to good. Exams are not very difficult if someone is studying a little bit daily. There are also some students who resumed their studies a year or more ago.
Other: This college has not too good campus life compared to other NITs, as it has a more academic-oriented college but it contains some big festivals like Aarohi. Connectivity is good as it is in the main Nagpur city.
