The course is a 2 year course, equivalent to an MBA. The faculty is really good - almost all of them have an experience of around 15-20 years. Placements are modest - there are good companies that hire from us. The average salary package is Rs.5 lakhs. Some professors provide notes - others make you write your own notes. Timings are 9:30 AM to 8:30 PM.

Yes, the first year is a bit stressful, but believe me - you will be thankful by the end of it. Stress is a part of any good MBA college including Jamnalal Bajaj. That's the only way you learn to manage time and yourself.
The management seats and the institute level seats are the same. No extra money as such for these.

I'll give you an unbiased, honest review, and for that I will measure XIMR on two parameters – education and placements.
For education – the college is pretty good. It has a very experienced faculty, who are approachable for students.
For placements – the college is modest, though it is still improving its record. There is still some improvement needed as the potential for placements is very huge.
I have this message for you: This college is a place where your success depends on yourself. The resources are there – the library, the computer centre, the classrooms and the huge meeting or discussion rooms. But all of the successes and your learning depend on how well you use these resources for your own benefits and advantages. I personally think XIMR needs to be a bit stricter, but then again they provide you with all the resources at your disposal. In fact, you also get access to world-class, subscription based newspapers such as The Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal.
If your major focus is on learning, XIMR is a decent place. If your major focus is placements, then you should prefer other options. That is not to say that the placements are bad - we have firms like HDFC, Nielsen, Hindustan Unilever, Reliance Industries, Maersk, etc, who come to recruit from us.

The timings are as follows: First lecture - 9:30 to 12:30, Lunch break - 12:30 to 14:00, Second lecture - 14:00 to 17:00, break - 17:00 to 17:30, library hours - 17:30 to 20:30 (meant for reading and studying). The college days are Monday to Saturday. For some weeks, you may have lecture on Sundays, and at that time you will get one holiday during the week.

That's a good question. In a MBA/PGDM course from any college, students with work experience will always have an advantage. This advantage will also help them in placements. However, that does not mean that students without work experience will not get good jobs. When recruiters come, they look at the student's overall performance in college academics, and they will select the student if they are impressed (even if that student does not have any job experience).

The companies mentioned on the website are true. However, I think I should give you a fair amount of information about placements at XIMR. You may notice that some students from the college have been placed at Accenture - these students had some work experience in IT and also had an engineering degree, which helped them get a job there. Last year, we had one person joining Nielsen, one person joining Hindustan Unilever, and a few people joining HDFC. However, one more thing to note is that companies may hire only the best 3-4 candidates (or sometimes only 1 candidate). Also, some companies may not come every year - they may come every alternate year.
XIMR is more of a learning-focused college, meaning that you will have to put in a lot of efforts to develop yourself. You may find that some other colleges are more focused on placements. Rest assured that I am giving you true facts about the college. Let me know if I can help in any more ways.
