I like to keep myself updated about the ongoing trends: Rajveer Singh Rajawat
From my childhood, I have always dreamed of joining the Indian Armed Force. So when I passed my 10th class, I did research on selecting the stream to achieve my dream. So choosing PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) was one of the best streams to join the Armed Force when I completed my 12th class from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Avikanagar. I had two options, the first one was to go for B.Sc. and the second one was to go for B.Tech. I chose B.Tech because it is a technical and professional course which would provide me with more opportunities to join the Indian Armed Force than the B.Sc course.
I chose Stani Memorial College of Engineering and Technology Jaipur, Rajasthan because it is one of the best engineering colleges in Jaipur and it is 25 km. away from my house which is nearby for me from other engineering colleges in Jaipur.
After completion of 12th class with PCM, most of the students give various kind of entrance exam. One of them is JEE (Joint Entrance Examination Mains) to get admission in IITs, NITs and many other government engineering colleges. I also applied for JEE (Mains) and AAT (Architecture Aptitude Test) entrance exam based on the suggestions of my friends to get admission. I applied because we have only two attempts to crack this exam and people say that the exam is tough. I had never applied for any such entrance exam. So I decided to give the exam and check how difficult the exam was. It is a conceptual based paper. The one who is strong in concepts can clear this exam. So, I appeared for the exam without any coaching class. This was my life’s first entrance exam experience.
I got direct admission in my college without giving an entrance exam for it. I wake up early in the morning at 5 o’clock for meditation and exercise. Then I get ready for college. I reach college at 8:30 am. Classes are from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and we have a lunch break for 45 minutes. After that, we attend lab classes up to 2:15 pm. So, this is my college time table. I like to attend all the lectures. Also, I like those classes which is not related to the syllabus like self-understanding, how to involve oneself deeply into spirituality or having discussion of what is the trend in engineering, our future scope, clearing our vision about future, how to live the moment, how to make oneself ready in this growing world and how to improve ourselves day by day.
I do participate in many extra-curricular activities organized by college like international conferences, workshops, sports activities, quiz, etc. I and my friends participate in other activities outside the college too. I like to spend my time in the college library and in computer labs to know what is going on in the world and keep myself up to date in every field (technical and non-technical) to enhance my knowledge and personality. College life is very different from school life. In college life, you will not see the discipline of school level because here you have to be yourself, self-dependent and self-disciplined. So I made myself like that. My purpose of life got changed after being into college.
