How BTech in CSE played a vital role in my life: Abdul Samad Irfan
My real-life experiences will help you to be successful in your career and in making a choice of institute that best suits your academic requirements and further assist in getting hired in top MNCs as a software engineer.
Beginning with how I chose my course of study in 10+2(intermediate), I was always aspired of becoming a software engineer and thus, I had opted for Science stream with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. After completing my +2 with science stream, I planned to prepare for some engineering entrance examinations. After devoting a few days, I settled with AP EAMCET.
AP EAMCET is a common engineering entrance test to bag a seat in engineering colleges or universities in the state of Andhra Pradesh. I always dreamt of studying at St. Martins Engineering College. But, being able to bag a seat in St. Martins Engineering College requires exemplary performance in +2. One needs to have good academic score in both intermediate (85%) as well as AP EAMCET (ranks range below 10000) as per last year’s cut off trends. I managed to score 85% in my intermediate and 6000 rank in AP EAMCET.
To perform well in the engineering entrance examination, I would always suggest to practice the multiple-choice questions and topics at regular times. A topic being explained in the college practice and its multiple choice questions and concepts also work. This will help you to clear your doubts at crack the examination with ease. I believe in self-study and so, I didn’t get enrolled in any external training centers for assistance to crack the entrance test.
I personally chose Computer Science Engineering since I was always fond of technology. To begin my words on how the course has played a vital role in my life, first I will let you know the importance of the course: “COMPUTER SCIENCE ENGINEERING”. It deals with all the latest and generic computer-related concepts and subjects, which will help us in enhancing our career goals and work freely in any environment, irrespective of any project in an organization.
The St. Martins Engineering College campus has a good culture, well-laid furniture and the architecture is just awesome. The campus has been partitioned into various different blocks where each block has its own significance. The complete campus is Wi-Fi enabled and classrooms are very beautifully constructed, aimed to be looking like those of IITs and IIMs.
We get the best faculty team here with at least PhD as their qualification. When you hear of NBA (basketball) in Telangana, the only college name related to it for basketball lovers is SMEC, as basketball teams here have won medals and rewards all over India. The canteen, which we love a lot, is providing calorie-rich, nutritious food approved by TSFSC (Food Security Corporation).
Here the culture of training and the learning platform are quite different when compared to other institutes. All curricula and structure of the annexure are segregated in such a way that we never miss the scope of topics in each subject. The training and faculty management will always help us in enhancing our skills in technical as well as in programming. All the programming languages like JAVA, DBMS, UNIX, other web technologies, etc. will be a part of our academic subjects and all will be taught by expert technical faculty management, which helps us at the time of campus placements and to score well in technical competitions.
The college has a very good placement record where every year around 1500-plus candidates are being recruited in top MNCs. The college has the best placement cell which helps you in updating the latest job drives and their candidate personality development in getting the job. In my branch of study, around 450+ candidates are being selected. The campus has a good name since every year, there are 90% placements. Our friends are still working for MNCs like HCL, Infosys and Tech Mahindra, with the starting salary being 30,000 per month. During academic projects, the companies provide a stipend of 10,000 per student and make them excel. The college helps us strive hard for getting placed in top MNCs, for which it conducts additional sessions and aptitude training classes, which help us to clear all levels of the software placements.
It’s all what my college has given me and when I look back at my past, it was one of the happiest moments I ever remember. These days will never come back, but this college gave me what I required for the best career in my life, and now, I am working with a top MNC as a software engineer, with a CTC of 8 LPA. Of course, I am as happy as I can ever be.
A few more words before I conclude: Make your dreams come true. This is the best college I will refer to any aspirant because it has given wings to my thoughts no matter how big the dream is, it will make it real with your cooperation and their support.
