IB ACIO Application Form 2024: Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) releases IB ACIO application form online. The last date to fill the application form is notified by the examination authority. Candidates need to pay the processing fee of INR 450. Male candidates of UR, EWS and OBC categories need to pay INR 100 in addition to Recruitment Processing Charges for IB ACIO exam.

How to fill IB ACIO Application Form?

Candidates were required to submit the application form of IB ACIO through the official website. IB ACIO application form could be filled in two parts. The steps related to filling both the parts of IB ACIO application form are explained below:

Filling the Part 1 of the Application Form

IB ACIO Registration: To register for the exam, candidates had to enter certain details. After successful registration, candidates were provided the registration number and password. 

Uploading of scanned image and signature: Candidates were required to upload their photograph and signature at the time of registration. The size of the file had to be more than 50 KB. 

Filling in the details: Candidates were required to fill in the academic qualification and other particulars in this part. 
Preview: Before submitting IB ACIO application form, candidates were asked to preview the application to ensure that they had provided correct information, the photograph and signature uploaded were visible and not hazy, etc.

Final Submit: After ensuring that the data entered in the application form is correct, candidates had to submit the application form by agreeing to the terms and conditions. 

Filling the Part 2 of Application Form

Payment of application fee: The application fee of IB ACIO could be paid both online and offline. Candidates opting to pay the fee offline were required to take printout of the challan and deposit the fee in cash at any of the branches of SBI. A challan receipt were given by the bank with the transaction ID which candidates are required to keep safely. Candidates could pay the fees online through Internet Banking, ATM-Cum-Debit Card and Credit Card of State Bank of India or any other bank. 

Print out of application form and payment slip: Candidates must not forget to take the printout of the application form and fee receipt.

Q:   Is clearing the UPSC exam necessary for entering an Intelligence Bureau post?

No, it is not necessary for one to clear UPSC exam to get into the Intelligence Bureau. There are various exams through which one can join the Intelligence Bureau based on their educational qualification. These exams include 1. IB ACIO 2. SSC CGL ASO in Intelligence Bureau 3. IB Security Assistant and MS 4. SSC CHSL as Lower Division Clerk 5. UPSC exam.

Q:   What are the physical requirements needed in order to apply for the IB Security Assistant Exam?

The Intelligence Bureau wants personnel who look ordinary and think extraordinary. It wants persons of normal physique and normal health. After the final selection, the Bureau asks the selected candidates to get a health Certificate from the District Medical Officer or the District Surgeon. If there is no objectionable comment on the health report, the Bureau would induct him and trains him in order to build up his strength, health and confidence.

The marking scheme of IB ACIO is given below:

  • There will be a negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer in the Tier I exam
  • For a correct answer in Tier I, candidates will get one mark
  • No marks will be awarded for un-attempted questions
