- EXtended Artificial Intelligence (XtAI) is a new, tuition-free english master's program offered by the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg, Germany (JMU) together with its Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (CAIDAS)
- XtAI aims to train highly qualified specialists in the field of one of the key methodologies of our century, Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- The program provides students with advanced skills and competencies in the analysis, development, and evaluation of AIs, from old proven systems all the way to the newest state-of-the-art
- Additionally, XtAI focusses on combining AI systems with extended (virtual and augmented) reality (XR) tools to provide a new, interactive medium that allows for the combination of human and machine intelligence
- This is a Masters Course at JMU, leading to a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree. The course, taught entirely in English, and combines the two major scientific fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Extended Reality (XR)
- Through a large variety of theoretical and practical lectures on AI, Machine Learning and 3D interfaces, students are tought the theoretical foundations as well as current application scenarios of state-of-the-art AI and XR methods

- Competences from a thesis of at least 10 ECTS credits with a topic from computer science according to the ECTS points scheme used at the JMU for the bachelor program in computer science
- Applicants with a Bachelor's degree with an average grade of 2.5 or above must take a written and oral examination. Applicants with a Bachelor's degree with an average grade of 2.0 only have to take the written examination. To be admitted to the XtAI programme, applicants must successfully pass these exams
