Q:   Is passing the AIBE exam necessary?

Yes, as per Bar Council of India regulations, for the students who passed their LL.B. (Legum Baccalaureus) degree from 2010 onwards, it is now mandatory to clear the All India Bar Examination to practice law in India. The state bar councils also ensure that the enrolled lawyers appear for the All India Bar Examination and pass the examination. If any enrolled lawyer fails to pass the bar examination then they are debarred from the councils or associations until they pass the exam. AIBE 19 eligibility criteria 2024

Candidates can check the  AIBE XIX (19) eligibility criteria 2024-25 below:

Candidates who have passed a three-year LLB or five-year LLB degree are eligibility to appear for AIBE exam. Therefore, academic qualifying exam for AIBE candidates is 

  1. 3-year LLB degree, OR
  2. 5-year integrated LLB degree

Minimum marks in qualifying exam

The BCI mentions no minimum marks are required for appearing in the AIBE exam. However, a candidate must secure a minimum percentage or grades in their law degree as prescribed by universities for further education. 

Age limit for AIBE exam

There is no upper or lower age limit for appearing in the All India Bar Examination. 

State Bar Council Registration/Enrollment 

A candidate must be registered with their State Bar Councils as an Advocate. As State Bar Council enrollment is mandatory for AIBE eligibility. 

Candidates not enrolled as an advocate with the SBC, will not be able to apply for AIBE XIX 2024-25

Q:   Can I apply for AIBE exams when my state bar council enrollment is under process.

A:

Yes, candidates could apply for AIBE exam if their enrollment process is in process. They are only required to provide enrollment number for AIBE application form. However, candidates will have to upload their enrollment Certificate once issued by their enrolled state bar council. During AIBE 19 examination process also, candidates will need to upload their enrollment Certificate properly in the applicant account, until then their result will be withheld.

AIBE 19 Registration 2024: Important Points to Note

When filling the AIBE registration and application form, candidates were advised to keep the following points in mind:

  • Check Eligibility: Ensure that you meet the prescribed AIBE eligibility criteria.
  • Self-Attestation: All documents uploaded should be self-attested by the candidates. Any document without self-attestation will be rejected by BCI.
  • No Postal Submission: There is no need to send any document by post to BCI.
  • Printout for Reference: Keep a printout of the duly filled and submitted application form for future reference.
  • No Online Correction Window: BCI does not provide an online application correction window. If there is any discrepancy in the information entered in the application form, candidates must email BCI to get it rectified.

Q:   Who are exempted from AIBE?

A:

The All India Bar Examinations AIBE are conducted by the Bar Council of India to certify law graduates to practice in a court. The applicant who can fulfill the following criteria is eligible for the AIBE exam:
1. You have passed any law degree examination, be it a three-year LL.B. Course, a five-year LL.B. Course, or an LL. M.
2. You are eligible if you have obtained a passing percentage in your degree course.
3. There is no age limit, and you can appear for the AIBE exam at any age with your law degree.

Steps to Apply for AIBE 19 (XIX) Exam 2024?

Candidates could check the steps to fill AIBE XIX (19) 2024-25 application form below:

Step 1: AIBE 19 Registration

Go the official website of AIBE - http://www.allindiabarexamination.com. Click on the Registration link. The AIBE registration page would have appeared as under: 

  Candidates had to enter the following details in the online registration form: 
  • Enrollment state
  • Enrollment number
  • Name
  • Mobile Number
  • Email ID 
  • Category

They had to then enter OTP received on their mobile number and email address to verify the registration process. Once verified, Next, AIBE 19 Registration Number and Password was sent to the registered email address. Next, candidates were required to log in with these details as under:

Step 2: Fill AIBE Application Form

The application form would have appeared on the screen as under: 

 

Candidates could check the details to enter on the AIBE application form 2024 below:

  • Name
  • Gender
  • Father’s/husband’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Permanent address
  • Email ID
  • Mobile number
  • Test centre preferences (at least 3)
  • Choice of test paper language (any 1 from available languages)

Also, they need to provide their academic qualification details as under:

  • Matriculation details 
  • Intermediate/ Class 12 details

Step 4: AIBE 19 (XIX) 2024 registration fee 

The application fee for AIBE 19 2024 could be paid in online mode only using any of the e-payment methods:

Q:   How many times is the AIBE exam conducted in a year?

A:

The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is conducted once a year. The Bar Council of India is responsible for conducting this exam nationally. The AIBE question paper has 100 objective questions that are paper-based. Clearing this exam gives a Certificate of Practice (COP), which is mandatory to practice as a lawyer in Indian courts. Q:   What all documents are required on AIBE 19 Exam day?

Q:   What is the application fee for the form for AIBE 2024?

A:

As per the application process of AIBE 2024, the application fee to be paid for General/ OBC category candidates is INR 3,500. However, candidates belonging to SC/ ST (including PWD candidates of the categories) have to pay INR 2,500 only as they are given concession. Candidates must note that if they are under PWD category, as well as General/ OBC category, then they will be allowed to claim concession only if they provide the proof of Physical Disability (40% or more).

If they failed to provide a Certificate of belonging to PwD category, then they have to pay the application fee INR 3,500 as applicable for General/ OBC category. Note: Since, the application fee for AIBE exam is to be paid in online mode, the bank will apply charges in addition to the applicable fee as processing charges. It completely depends on the mode of payment, and the charges may range from INR 60 to 150, which will be confirmed at the time of final payment process only.

How To Retrieve AIBE Registration 19 (XIX) ID & Password?

In case, any registered candidate has forgotten his/her AIBE registration ID and password, s/he can retrieve it on the official website of the exam. The steps to retrieve registration ID and password are as follows:

Step 1: Visit the official website - https://allindiabarexamination.com/ 

Step 2: Click on the Find Registration Id and Password (AIBE-XIX) link.

Step 3: Enter the following credentials:

  • Registration ID or mobile number
  • Date of birth

Q:   How to get Certificate of practice after AIBE?

A:

To get the Certificate of Practice (COP) after passing the All India Bar Examination AIBE you need to follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Register with the Bar Council of India: You need to register yourself with the Bar Council of India by submitting the AIBE scorecard, your law degree Certificate and other relevant documents. You will also need to pay the registration fee and fulfill any other requirements specified by the Bar Council of India.

Q:   Can I Practice without clearing AIBE?

A:
According to the rules set by the Bar Council of India (BCI), you will only be able to practice law in India if you clear the All India Bar Examination. Without clearing AIBE you can practice for only 2 years. This exam is conducted once a year nationally by BCI. 1. You will have to appear in the AIBE exam after passing your law degree course. 2. After getting enrolled as advocates with your respective state bar councils, you can apply for this exam. 3. The exam is expected to take place in December this year. 4. After clearing AIBE you will get a Certificate of Practice (COP) from BCI. 5. This COP will allow you to practice law in Indian courts as a lawyer.

Q:   Do I need to apply again for AIBE 2024 again if I already applied for AIBE 18 but failed the examination?

Yes, candidates applying for AIBE 19 will be considered as fresh applicants if they have already appeared for the bar examination and could not qualify it. Candidates are considered as a new applicant even if they could not appear for the last session of AIBE. The exam authority does not refund or renew any candidate's registration.

Yes, the reserved categories I. e. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, PWD candidates of SC/ ST category will be given a concession of INR 1,000 on the application fee i.e. they had to pay INR 2,500 as the application fee. Whereas, the candidates from unreserved categories have to pay INR 3,500. Apart from this, other candidates will not be exempted from paying AIBE 2024 application fee under any circumstances.

Q:   I enrolled for AIBE XVIII (18) Exam but did not appear for it. Can I appear for AIBE XIX (19) Exam without paying registration fee?

A:

No, you cannot appear for AIBE XIX(19) without paying the registration fee. For AIBE 18, the Bar Council of India had announced that candidates who appeared at Rajkot centers for AIBE-XVII will be allowed to participate in the next AIBE-XVIII without having to pay the examination fee again.

AIBE 19 Admit Card 2024

The Bar Council of India will release of AIBE XIX admit card only to those candidates who have successfully registered for the exam. Candidates whose AIBE applications remain incomplete in any way will not be able to appear for the exam. AIBE 19 (XIX) Admit Card 2024-25 will be released in online mode.

The AIBE admit card will carry all important details regarding the candidate (name, roll number, photo, signature) and the exam (date, time, centre address, reporting time, exam day instructions). Candidates have to appear for the AIBE exam only as per the details mentioned in the admit card.  

Q:   Is AIBE 19 Hall Ticket 2024 out?

A:

No, AIBE 19 Hall Ticket has not been released. Candidates must note that the BCI will released the AIBE 19 Admit Card on December 15, 2024. All those candidates who will filltheir AIBE 18 (XVIII) Admit Card carefully will be issued the AIBE XIXHall Ticket. AIBE 19 Admit card 2024 will be made avaiable for candidates on the official website; i.e. allindiabarexamination.com. Candidates must note that they will not be allowed to appear in the exam without AIBE Admit Card 2024 .

The AIBE 2024 Hall ticket is the same as the admit card. It is the most important document required to appear in the AIBE 19 (XIX) Exam 2024. To access your results, you  must log in using their User ID and Password on the official AIBE portal, using the same details they provided in their AIBE XIX application. The scorecard will include the candidate's roll number and qualification status, indicating whether they have passed or failed.
