Mock tests form an important aspect of NEET preparation. Exam preparation will be incomplete without taking NEET mock tests and success in this highly competitive medical entrance exam is impossible. The frequency of taking NEET mock test would vary based on the number of days left for the test. When there are three to four months left for the exam, students should take mock tests twice a week and dedicate the rest of the days for analysis and preparation. In the last month before NEET the frequency of taking mock tests would increase. They are expected to take a full-length mock test every alternate day. You can follow a single good book. Try to give maximum time to NEET study. Practise few mocks and previous year papers. It is possible to score this high with six months preparation. Avoid distractions and just follow one single good book.

Yes, the NEET examination pattern suggests that there will be negative marking. For every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted and 4 marks will be awarded for every correct answer. However, negative marking will not be applicable for the unattempted or extra attempted questions. Since there is a negative marking scheme for wrong answers, candidates must answer questions carefully and select the questions carefully which they are sure about the accuracy.

The total number of questions in the NEET question paper is 200, out of which 180 questions will have to be attempted. Each of the three NEET subjects will be divided into two sections and each subject will carry an equal weightage. While Section A carries 35 questions, 15 questions are there in Section B. While all 35 questions have to be attempted in Section A, 10 out of 15 questions will have to be attempted in Section B. Test-takers must ensure that they do not attempt any extra question in Section B. Although there will not be any penalty in terms of marks, it would incur loss of time.

• Revise regularly and never wait for the last-minute revision of the syllabus you covered for the exam. Regularly revise what you have studied and check your preparation level by taking tests.
