HAS University of Applied Sciences: Courses, Admission, Cost

Established in 1947, HAS University of Applied Sciences is a premier, non-profit educational institution and expertise center that offers bachelor’s, master’s, and minor courses in applied sciences. The HAS University of Applied Sciences is a coeducational and international student-friendly institute. Considered to be a prominent educational institute of repute in the southern Netherlands in the agri-food and environment disciplines, the university lays emphasis on future-focused and industry-oriented courses.

Through its campuses located in the vibrant student cities of Den Bosch and Venlo, the university offers specialized courses in disciplines, such as food, agribusiness, horticulture, and environment. Its courses are accredited by the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organisation. With its distinctive focus on the food and agribusiness disciplines, the Den Bosch campus is renowned for its bachelor's program in Horticulture & Business Management. Delivered in English, this course is aimed at familiarizing its pupils with the technical know-how and production best practices adopted by the Dutch in the food and agriculture industry. Further, this program introduces its learners to the inventive techniques of plant production and cultivation, their management and organization, national and international trade, marketing and sales.

The other English-taught bachelor's program at the Den Bosch campus is International Food & Agribusiness that focuses on how food is produced and processed across different countries and cultures. This course aims at acquainting its pupils with the global food supply process and the sustainable methods through which the present and future food and nutrition requirements can be fulfilled. Prepared in collaboration with market leaders in the agri-food industry, the curriculum of the International Food & Agribusiness course is intended to familiarize students with international business and cooperation. Besides, the only other English course, Business Management in Agriculture & Food, is offered at the Venlo campus. This course focuses on the entire spectrum of business management roles in the agri-food industry. For those proficient in Dutch, the university offers 11 specialized courses.

This mid-sized university boasts of all the modern amenities and infrastructure on its campuses to facilitate the delivery of its courses. The university has a state-of-the-art technology hall to meet learners’ requirements, such as simulations for path-breaking technological research. The thoughtfully built 2-hectare university garden houses an exhaustive collection of plants, flowers, and shrubs. Further, the university includes laboratories that foster a conducive environment for discovery, innovation, research, and experiments concerning food safety. With around 450 teachers to facilitate the pupils, the university is home to 3000 students.
