For students who are not able to attend the offline exam on the scheduled date due to COVID-19, for them special exams will be conducted later on.
Cotton University has announced that it has decided to give one more chance to all those students who are infected with COVID-19. The varsity will now conduct a special exam for them as they will not be able to appear for the offline semester examination on the scheduled date.
Speaking about the same, Academic Registrar of Cotton University, Diganta Das said, “More and more people are now getting infected every day. Students who are not able to attend the offline exam on the scheduled date due to COVID-19, for them special exams will be conducted later on.”
Due to the sharp rise in COVID cases in the state, the varsity has also suspended all practical classes and examinations until January 31. The University authorities issued a notice stating that all Undergraduate and Postgraduate classes, including BA Liberal Arts, will now be conducted online with immediate effect.
However, the fifth-semester examination for UG courses will be held offline as per schedule. Hostels will also be kept open for only fifth-semester undergraduate students.
The notice further stated: "In case examinees from outside Guwahati who are not hostel boarders fail to arrange accommodation due to COVID-19 issues, they may submit applications to the Director, Students' Welfare through respective guardians and HoD, requesting temporary hostel accommodation."
The notice added that fresh directives will be issued regarding the holding of classes from February 1 after further evaluation of the situation in the coming days.
Separate examinations will be held at a suitable time for Under-Graduate 5th Semester examinees who will be under hospitalization or home isolation due to COVID-19 infection. All examinees, faculty members and staff will have to produce double vaccination certificates.
