The University of Kashmir (KU) has announced winter vacation for all students until February 15. The winter vacation has been announced considering the extreme cold condition. The University in an official notification stated that, "It is notified for the information of all concerned that the teaching faculty of the main and satellite campuses shall observe winter vacation until February 15, 2023."

“However, the Heads of the Departments shall ensure that the examinations and implementation of extramurally funded research projects etc. does not get affected”, the notification reads. “The remedial classes, if any, shall be conducted in offline/online mode during vacations”, the notification reads further.

Meanwhile, the UoK has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with six affiliated colleges aspiring to come into the fold of accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The colleges will be mentored under the NAAC’s Margadarshan Mentor-Mentee scheme, a quality promotion initiative that aims to guide and facilitate the aspiring higher education institutions (HEIs) to prepare for the assessment and accreditation process.
